Miserable Bu88ers

Post by Rubber Chicken »

Please don't take offence if this is any of you but I see MR2's around th area, so I give them a wave...a thumbs up but nothing so I've resulted in popping the lights up...BUT STILL...NOTHING,not even a smile,a wave,in fact not even a glance, it's as though they purposely rather not take me on,everyone one else who's not driving an MR2 seems to see me though. Wouldn't mind if it was just once or twice but not one of them takes me on,even when you pull up next to them at traffic lights, miserable sods. Rant over *breaths*

I would normally agree with you but this morning I was driving down the road and a white mk1 pulls out of a junction ahead and heads towards me. spotting an older looking lady driving I thought I'd give her a quick wave, not expecting a response... The beam on her face and the over enthusiastic wave made me laugh out loud and cheered my morning up... until I got to work
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Same for me, the only 2 in my area who actually responded to a flash of the lights was a middle aged lady in a yellow NA.

All the young lads driving them look like they'd sooner stab me than return a wave or thumbs up

I had given up waving at people cause I never get anything back, until last Friday when I saw a guy driving a purple rev2 n/a, who waved at me like his life depended on it  It would've been rude not to wave back :)

Haha,I think there should be a rule that if they dont wave back the car should be taken off them and given to some1 nice! Preferably me,I would like another MR2!

Was it purple or was it the "cosmos blue"? lol,i'd say they're the same but i know how defensive they get about it,big girls!

It was a rev2 so if it were cosmos blue it would've been a respray :)

It's a weird cherry colour, smoked lights, toms scoops, the lot #-o

I put a spotted thread up about it here: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=133751

*sighs* I never see any MR2's to wave to...my 2 mile journey to work and back is rather boring. :(

In a way it's a good thing i guess, people will see you everyday and know it's you. I love the fact they're not common unlike all the clio's, fiesta's, audi's etc which you drive past hundreds and they all look the same to me. Can't tell Mark from Mandy.

I've given up after 7 1/2 years of MR2 ownership, think only about 3 people have ever waved back. Never been spotted in that time either!

The first week i got my 2 a bloke in a suit & shades came up behind me, i thought he was going to drop a gear and whooosh past ,to highlight how superior his 2 was compared to mine, instead upon pulling level he waved & gave a really cheesy grin, made my day !
Alas since then i never get waved nor flashed, although its mainly 'older' people around my way that seem to own them, & they just give me the..
" i would'nt give you the stream of my s**t " type of look, let alone give me a wave or smile. #-o

Best 'spotted' wave I got was from a bloke in an L reg GT4. He was obviously aware of the engines in the MR2, having pulled along side and waved with an epic grin on his face, before disapparing into the distance.

Someone people just buy the car as they like it no to be in any 'club'. They prob looking at you waving and flashing and thinking 'do i know you'? or 'look at that mad fool'

I have seen quite a few other MR2 owners and never wave at them. Most tend to see me behind them and then think its time to show how good they are at driving like a complete knob

I'm normally up for waving but don't think to do it until they've gone past!

I wouldn't say mine's modified really, just subtle mods but not from lack of trying, just cant find the funds to do what i want.
Just try and keep it clean, exhaust is quite loud though compared to most other cars, decatted blueflame exhaust, you need to get pics of your car up!!!

Well I am old and have a loud exhaust. Maybe this is the reason why...
