alarm engine kill

Post by mulaz »

i am about to fit a alarm.
sorted out the central locking and the flasher wiring.

But can someone recomend what would be the best part on the ignition circuit to cut to kill the engine on a blue top engine.

There is a purple/black wire behind the passenger seat in the loom that if used disables the starter motor. Its the wire toyota used when they fitted scorpion alarms on most mk1's.

Had a quick look behind the pasenger seat at the loom and the only wire that i can see that is purple has a white stipe.

will take a look at the wiring diagram and see what that wire controls

Sorry, my bad, the black and purple wire was from the alarm side. The wire you need to split looks like this, its black with a brown pin stripe and red/brown dots.....

I can't find Black/Brown on the "starter relay" circuit, according to the diagrams it would be a Black/White to disable the start relay, not ideal IMHO as you could still bump start the car.
I might be wrong, but I think that's Black/Orange, breaking into that would disable the "engine main relay", which is ideal for an alarm/immobiliser as it cuts the power to ECU and ignition circuits :thumleft:

Yea Thats the wire to cut to disable the car

The engine turns over but does not start, also doubles as a input for the ACC on the alarm module.

many thanks again :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:
