A mk2 rev 1 or 2 NA would murder even the manual mk3, I'd have thought, there's nearly a whole second difference up to 60mph, so can't imaging the mk3 being able to make up the difference after that :-k

No chance... A mk3 is definitely quicker off the line than a naturally aspirated mk2. Its the turbo ones I'm scared of...

Imcicentally, what 0-60 time are you using?

Toyota's very own 0-60 times :)

Manual mk2 rev1/2 NA is 7.2 seconds.
Manual mk3 roadster is 8 seconds.

That explains it...:D My grandma could do an 8 second 0-60 in my mk3... Evo magazine tested a mk3 at 7.2 seconds. Others road testers have achieved similar numbers and some cars have achieved high 6's without to much difficulty...

Given that then, perhaps your grandma could get 6.5 seconds in an early mk2 ?

Basically, they'd be even. FWIW, from a rolling start a Mk1 NA and a Mk3 NA are absolutely even all the way to 110mph - and yes, this was on a track - Bruntingthorpe ;)
