.

.because this modern day thieving, yes, THIEVING, mentality makes me sick.

In so many avenues now, people are ripping off everything they can with the most stupid and ridicuous justifications.

On the

'other' MR2 club I notice they even have a fake Rolex in the classifieds.

The owner openly discusses

"bringing a few back".

People think that stealing music is fine because its all via big corporates.

Anyone in business knows it will never be the directors and big boys who suffer.

They'll just lay people off and those remaining will have to work harder or lose thier jobs to someone who will.

These are normal people like you and me.

I have seen this first hand as I have many friends in the music, movie and games industries.

I also know lots of people in the fashion industry, also hit by fakes.

In an age of celebrity wannabes, peer to peer file sharing and recession people, at levels never seen before, justify this crap.

I then see people getting applause and compliments.

.

.

.

.

.and for what? For making a cheap copy of someone elses work.

They havent done anything to warrant applause.

The italian designer, engineer, fabricator etc etc who have worked hard all thier lives to get where they are have indeed earned that applause.

You call me a child? Maybe, but I have bought EVERY single movie, game and CD, video cassette, vinyl record in my collection which I recently had to value for the insurance at well over

£25k.

Do I regret spending that much? NO! I have something tangible and genuine I can appreciate, something that in some cases may become more valuable in a collectors market.

More importantly, I supported those industries, I have helped keep people in jobs and helped finance the development of those arts.

In the same way jobs are threatened when people stigmatise brands by making cheap copies.

Everyone thinks Ferrari are rock solid but it wasnt that long ago that Fiat was considering selling and who knows how much the next owners would have wanted to trim the brand.

The most important asset in a company like that is it's brand, full stop.

Remember how many times Lamborghini changed hands?

Ironically, I know people who barely own anything original and yet will slag the economy knocking the quality of music and movies out there and scalding governments when car companies go down.

They seem to be so blinkered that they can't see they were partly responsible.

Someone above mentioned that its ok because they wouldnt put the badges on.

I mean really? Come on?

Its easy to take

(steal?) when it doesnt affect you but how many of these people would think differently if it affected thier own livelihoods or the health of thier company.

I'm sure to many this still wont make sense, so in advance of the inevitable I'll now bang my head some more.
