Exhaust manifold nuts

The stock toyota manifold nuts are sort of compressed in the middle to aid against them coming undone I guess. I don't really fancy £30.77 for 9 nuts, so wondered what else could be used. Would serrated flange nuts do the job? I'm guessing anything that is a "shake proof" fastener would be ok.

Someone confirm or give opinion?

Ant, they're called k nuts, have a google and you'll find loads of suppliers. Not sure if they'll be cheaper than Toyota though.

i need to go to specsavers i'm tired..

so those stock toyota brass nuts with the slit in them are locking nuts? cool!! i thought they were used for expansion properties cause they seem to work loose easily on my car.. unless somebody has removed them before in the past
