Having a bit of work done to the MR2 so I thought I'd share some pics

i didn't say i don't like it

just if i went through the hassle of a full respray i'd want it unique. I guess i do prefer metallics over solid colours. I quite like that metallic yellow/ orangey pearl found on the renault meganes.

Well done mate. Looks gorgeous. So so nice to see an MR2 looking rough at the edges being brought back to life ten fol. Such a shame when you see similar cars being broken for no good reason.

Thats the colour of MY MR2 and it looks fantastic - Renault Liquid Yellow, its a pearl rather than metallic though.

I'm also interested to know how much it's costing. The paintwork on my MR2 has blemishes all over. You can't notice them unless you get close and really look for some but it bothers me so I'm planning on getting it tidied up like yours.

I was quoted £1500 to remove some rust from both rear arches, a small bit of rust above the windscreen, and fit a bomox front bumper. Then blend it all in but when I spoke to them again they said as they had to blend in so much of the car anyway it may as well have a full re-spray for about the same money.

When they took all the bodywork off they found some more rust so I asked them to remove that too. They haven't told me an exact figure yet but asked them to give me notice if it was to go near £2k and they haven't.

If your car is in good condition with no / minimal rust, I'd say £1.5K ish for a good gob. Or if it has rust put aside at least £2k.

If you want a colour change this will cost more for a proper job.

Before anyone says, I know up to £2k is a lot to throw at a car that isn't worth a huge amount but THIS CAR ROCKS and is worth every penny

Good for you mate. Too many people just think about thier car as an asset rather than a thing of passion to be proud of.

Sounds resonable! Got some rust on the door and on the rear arches, but I want it done in the same colour anyway. That yellow looks so much better than the normal yellow btw.

Yea agreed! I'll be honest, i'm not really a fan of the yellow colour option but that new coat does look lovely! Like Sparki said, real deep and rich.
