[Mk2] [Turbo] Rear cluster looms the same for all revisions?

Post by Hunders »

I'm looking at converting my revision 3 rear clusters to the quad light setup so that I don't need a separate fog light hanging below the bumper.

What I need to know is if the wiring looms for the revision 1 and 2 are the same as what is found on the revision 3?

Cheers.

The wiring is different.

For the conversion all you need is 2 dual filament bulb holders from any revision MR2, as long as they have a length of wire on them. :thumleft:

Yeah, I should have been more clear with my wording. It's specifically the bulb holder that I needed to know was the same across revisions.

Looks like I'm good to go then. I've found 2 looms which are at a much lower price than new :)

Cheers, Jaspa.

Be aware that the rev1-2 dual filament bulb holders and the rev3+ are NOT identical (well either that or the sockets on the middle lenses are slightly differnt to the outer lenses - I did not check). The rev1-2 dual filament holders will fit in the rev3 inner lenses with some wiggling, but will not clamp hard down to form a wateright seal like the other lenses do. When I did my quad light mod I taped them down for a bit of extra security.
