Hi there

On first thought I would have expected the closer coils to be at the top

but

the lower spring cups

(on the strut) have a cut out to accept the end of the lower spring.

so it must be right for the flattened ends to be at the top

(where there's a rubber ring I believe)

and despite the suspension movement being from the bottom, the spring's tension will decide where it absorbs the moveement anyway
