I think you may find that the price of a decent vehicle wrap is higher than most people expect. Id get a quote from them first but would expect the price to be high.
Price wise - thats a pretty decent price for a vinyl wrap. Its a very skilled job and requires a huge amount of preparation. Which is why I said earlier in the thread "I think you may find that the price of a decent vehicle wrap is higher than most people expect."
At work we regularly get enquiries for vehicle wraps and people expect them to be quite low cost as its "...only putting some vinyl on isnt it?..." which sadly isnt the case.
a friend and i have been playing with 3m di-noc vinyl. this stuff is awsome!
its easy to wrap, turns to a silk like texture when warmed up, making it super easy to wrap around complex shapes, can come in hundreds of colours and with a textured surface like wood or carbon fiber.
all though the carbon only comes in a matt finish, i have to say having used the stuff i could be easily fooled! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_bAnxMV ... re=related
Doesn't the vinyl wrap have a lifespan of something like 4 years?
Respray every time in my opinion.
Another point to consider - if you have rust appearing under the vinyl you can't locally treat it and have it blended. It would require a whole panel to be re-done and will the match be the same?
I agree that it is a skilled job though.....
thats a good point, anything under the vinyl like rust would require a whole panel to be re-done. but matching colours and textures is easier than with paint from my experience. especially with the textured pieces, its supprisingly easy to match up the patterns, but doing it well is obviously a craft
on a plus side, if you learn to prep and wrap yourself, you could do a complete car colour change for the cost of the materials

I though it would be cheaper than that TBH but then again £1300 will get a prefect job in 3 days, with a respray it`s more like 3 weeks.

Which car was it? And what did he have done exaclty?

Most companies have a 3 year gaurente.
My car is currently metalic so if i did have rust then to treat it and spray would be costly anyway with colour blending.

TrackScotland Skyline R32 GTR. Fiona Kindness. Finished second in Club Class in the first round
They got it fully wrapped in white, car used to be grey and had a Saltire put on the roof.

I think thats the stuff I've got a sample of. A friend of mine uses this stuff and it really is pretty trick. Does look very good when applied correctly.
How much is this di-noc vinyl? I wanted to wrap my FRP boonnet so it looked carbon. Interested in doing it myself rather than paying £200 sheets for the priviledge.
For those just wanting the carbon look, it looks like a great product
