This project went horribly wrong. I followed all advice available and was let down big time. I don't have much of a clue about mechanics or modifying.

Rev 1 turbo engine conversion

Parts installed
drilled and grooved drake discs front and rear
Carbon Kevlar Brake Pads all round
Goodrich hoses

Refurbished gearbox
new Greedy clutch

Link G3 ECU and converter

Aeromotive Fuel regulator and fittings

lightweight aluminum strut brace

Refurbished 17" alloys

quad lights front and rev 6 light rear

Body work is in very good condition same with interior

Blitz nur spec exhaust

new Oil pump and cam belt

I have been told that the oil seals have blown in the engine and could have starved the crank of oil.

What is the problem with the engine, will it run, is there a noise, why do you think there is a problem with the engine?

Black smoke from the breather hose. Compression test reveals 20 and 35% on two cylinders. It does run and no knocking noises.

Work on the basis the engine needs full rebuild.

That sounds like a blown head gasket and or damaged piston

Thor racing set the link ecu up and found the engine problems. I'm not willing to spend more money to fix the car really. I love the car and had more sleepless nights than my divorce. What do you think the car is worth? £1000 ?

Had problems with them before, not a good place to take your car.

One more thing, the NA fuel pump will not give enough fuel for a turbo engine.

I am sure it is worth £1000 but I think you would have to break it to get that, for a complete car you may not even get £500 for it as its a non runner

I had the fuel pressure checked out and was fine. I had a new 3.5 bar pump ready to hand and was not needed.

You may be able to get a good engine for around £400 or so, get that put in and then sell it as a running car.

Will the new engine run all the mods I have installed? I don't want to go down the same route

Something did the damage to the engine, too much boost, lack of fuel, too much advance on the timing. Its down to who did the engine work and set the ECU up. If you get the work done right there should not be a problem.
Without new pistons you will only be able to see around 300 HP or so on a stock engine.

Thats all I wanted out of the new mods 250 300 bhp. So I had the fuel tested which was fine. The engine was not modified in anyway. All the rest is up to the ecu right?

Just thought of something else the car left me with the stock ecu on and was not boosting.

The advice i would give you is to rebuild then engine or get a replacement.

Now the really good bit of advice. Get that turbo and bin, smash it, sell it on but dont fit it it. They are total sh@t

Email them like i did and ask how much warrently they wiil give you and you should get the same answer i did 30 DAYS I have seen one of these which lets just say, took out the engine with it when it blew.

how did they check the fuel presure to get a good and accurate test? it should be under load and high it the revs thats when you will need the fuel and it should be constant at 3.5 bar!!!
if you still have the standard pump off a n/a it just wont pump the fuel (on tick over all would look ok)
oh and in parts the car would be more than a grand as you could pull £400+ on the ecu prob closer to 1500

Thats a good point! The garage that installed the mods did'nt want to rev too hard until the ecu had been fitted and set up. As for the ECU I saw the same model on ebay no bids set at £360. It scares me how much time and cash this project has cost me. Thanks for all that have replied. If anyone wants the car for £1000 let me know.
