Just Cause 2

Post by Andy Jones »

Anybody else tried the demo of this yet. Didn't know anything about it and never even seen the first incarnation.

First impressions is Far Cry 2 meets GTA but a quite amusing outcome given your characters abilities and vehicle jacking and all the destructable scenery.

At the end of the timer on the demo (over 30 mins to sample the game) it gives you a sneak peak at the map of the full game and it looks absolutely massive. Just hope it doesn't get tiring.

The first one was quite good fun.

Aiming was a bit dodgy but you got what they were trying to do with it.

The new one looks like a massive improvement. Ill check out the demo on my slob day tommorow.

Aiming is still a bit "iffy" i'd say but it's do-able. Quite childish too going around attaching enemies to oil barrels/vehicles/each other etc with the grapple thing to watch the outcome but at the same time rather amusing :D

@H3RB: Eidos are behind it and the PS3 version moves quite well so guessing it's using the Tomb Raider engine?

Picked this up on the weekend - ZOMG this game is huge, the demo dosnt do it justice, it really is stupidly huge. So far spent a good deal of time just twatting around

It reminds me of the old GTA San Andreas where you could just spend eternity doing stupid stuff - like using a jet pack to land ontop of a police helicopter and then taking the chopper out with a dildo!

The grappling hook is such a cool addition to - being able to attach things to other things is a laugh - you have so many ways to destroy stuff.

I am trying to perfect the high altitude vehicle intercept. Basically sky lift something like a car with a helicopter up to high altitude, drop the car and then bail out of the helicopter and then attempt to catch up with the car and get into it in mid air - then ride it to impact. :D Quality game - especially if like like finding novel ways to mess things up.

ive been playing this for a few weeks now, but havent realy gotten into the story mode too much, much like other people it sounds. its so easy to confescate anything you want and you can go anywhere you can see.

its simply huge and give you the feeling of real open world. i like zipping to helecopters or base jumping from mountains, strangely exilorating for a game!

Saw a trailer whilst stood in GAME the other day and it looked awesome!

Trailer was pretty clever as it was just linked together and showed every angle of the game.

Did you not get round to trying the demo?

They should create a new game catagory called twatting around (as Bender Unit states) this game would fit well in there :)

Xbox is ko'd.

Graphics card is screwed i think. Had it going on 5 years so i cant complain too much.

Ill get a new one when theres a backlog of games to play and im not at work 11 hours a day.

I love this game - havent done 1 mission, just been messing around.

Going to see if I can drive a speedboat down a skyscraper.

The air you can get with the speedboats is awesome - just drive into other boats, rocks and beaches and your airborne! Also managed to drive the boat under water for a good distance too after hitting a boat which sumberged me.

If this game was also multiplayer it would be epic!

Think thats what made Crackdown so much fun! Coop on that game was so much fun.

You didnt have the vehicles that Just Cause does but the free running and super strength were fun enough.

Strange I find the speedboats seem to take loads of punishment - I have seen how far inland I can get the boat. Managed to park one, ontop of a house a a good walk away from the water.

Plan for tonight is to air lift a tank to a runway and leave it parked to the side just at the point the planes take off, then do the unbreakable tether glitch and string the tank to the plane just as it lifts off ... the tether pulls tight and the plane comes back down to earth hard! :D

Sam - Crackdown was hilarious with a mate, even funnier when you get to the top of agency tower and you throw him off to his death, only to have him climb to the top for a second time and you do the same again. Crackdown 2 will be great!

I only wish this game had multiplayer!

Have a mess around doing the unbreakable grapple glitch - attaching a TukTuk, another Jet, or a person to a jet and then going for a fly is a laugh.

Have you tried the heli chuck? Attach a person by a grapple to a helicopter, take it up and wiggle the stick so the person on the grapple starts to spin when they hit critical velocity let them go and watch them fly!

Extreme tuk tuking is also a laugh - heli one to the top of the steepest peak and then ride that sucker down!
