Thanks everyone, I have to admit I love the look of them ! I'm currently going over ideas about replicating them for other people but using a slightyl different process - if it works, it should also require less metal needing to be cut away which would only be a good thing :thumleft:

Gav, cheers mate :thumleft: and i've now ordered everything I need for my build. Took your advice and went to rsp for the parts, real nice guys :D I'll start a project thread when I drop the engine - hopefully next weekend

Well, just a little update really........

I was never completely happy with the lenses I made, they were a bit of a means to an end really. Today i've made completely new ones but using the stock pop up covers.
I didn't get any pics of my fettling during cutting the centres out but basically I marked out my border, removed the centre section and trimmed the sides.

Here's a pic in primer with the acrylic lenses glued in :

Got them all sprayed up in the new car colour ;) Peugeot gris fonce kazan - yes I finally decided on a colour and I think it's gorgeous :th: :

The colour looks almost black in the shade but as soon as the sun hits it, it comes to life :th:

Will further update tomorrow (hopefully) with the new covers fitted :th:

Cheers buddy, don't know know why I didn't think of doing it this way in the first place to be honest ? !!!!! ;)

As for the clear tobes, I've had limited success with them really - I get one good one out of every 4 I do :( trying to perfect the process is tricky without the proper tools but I haven't given up yet. I thought it'd be a lot easier/quicker than it has been, but I guess Rome wasn't built in a day ;)

It'd actually be easier to make the flat usdm style ones but finding a pair to copy is impossible

Hi mate, I didn't no. They were great but required so much work to make, that I abandoned the idea.

I made these instead. My own version of low rise lights. Much easier ;)

Very nice :thumleft:
i like the way you have protective covers in front as well,
to me that seems an improvement on the Rogue ones which are left open to the elements, looks great.

gazrev1tubby, since you have abandoned these, if you still have your prototypes sitting around, I would be interested in purchasing them for the purpose of recreating them for the community. Please message me if you still have them and would be willing to sell them. Thanks!
