Time For A Change

Post by rev2rich »

Hi guys

I have had my mr2 know for a bit and I sort of decided that instead for going the uber bhp power route as others have gone I want to go for more tack use 2. I already have a few things going on at the minate, fitting a aem ecu soon to sort out the run problems and massive over fueling on it.

My firend has just started the next project and it has me wanting to start mine....He has just started hes time attack car so I caught the bug too.

So hes my question to you, I am looking to increase the bhp to about 400 at the wheels, ( no importance that number it just sounded good)

I have seen a few turbo kits i.e the ko racing one and a few others but I really want a turbo with as less laggy possible, 400 is a goal not important if it doesn't get their but close would be nice, I have seen that turbo technics do a stage 2 hybrid of the turbo on the car, its it laggy as hell or are they a little bit out on the bhp mark? I have had a T.T turbo on my old car and i did love it!

So could you throw up a few suggestions on turbo's and roughly when the turbo kicks in the (rev's)? I do love the way it spools so early and really don't want to lose that feature.

cheers guys

And heres a pic of the new time attack car we are working on

You'll be looking at a forged build to achieve power like that reliably.

Did that used to be an IS200?

Yep I know a forged block will be going in.plan to make it 2.2 l to get less lag. I want to pick the turbo first then build the engine to suit it, try and get every last bit of power from it

And yes the rolling shell is the 200 once all the carbon body work is put on it he's a v8 4l turbo charge lump going in it
