Metric or AF thread

Post by S A Watt »

Hi folks

Can someone help

I went to get the Mk1 out of hibernation and found i had a burst brake pipe underneath.

Straight forward ill replace it. :D

Whilst doing this the clutch pipe (which attaches with the same bracket on the chassis as brake pipe) when disturbed also started to leak #-o

Anyway i am now going to have the pipe replaced from the elbow to the engine.

If you take off the plastic panals under the car you will see the elbow just behind the frunk underneath and the pipe running up chasis in middle. The section from frunk to elbow is fine

I am not near my car at the moment but need to get bits in order to get the job done.

I know the pipe required is quarter inch so no problem with that

But i need to know if the male conectors which go into the elbow and the attache to flexi pipe at chassis before engine are a Metric or AV thread.

Can anyone help.

A/F nuts and bolts have a double oo on one of the hexagon flats.
