Check for error codes: http://www.mr2-tech.com/bgb/mechanical/ ... stem/4.htm

(Note: Do this even if you don't have a warning light on).

Yep - turn the ignition on first but don't start the engine. Starting the engine with the paperclip in place disables the ECU's igition timing control.

right managed to plumb in boost gauge.from the vacum going to dump valve took the car down the road and its boosting 10 psi.any other suggestions? was gonna fit a bleed valve an try that????? had a little fiddle on with the boost controller. think im doing it right but when i type in 13psi its not going to 13psi just staying the same? what is a safe boost that u can run with mods exhaust and decat? is 15/16 safe?

Sounds like you are finding your way around the car pretty well! :thumleft:

I wouldn't turn the boost up much past stock if I were you. The standard intercooler is crappy, the rev1 has a paper head gasket which it will blow out and you hit fuel cut anyway around there.

It sounds like maybe the boost controller isn't plumbed in properly, what make is it?

Whoops sorry, it's even in the thread title  It's been a long day and I confused this with another thread!!

13.6 sounds spot on, that's stock boost give or take. If you were to improve the intake cooling (better intercooler or chargecooler, that type of thing) you can up the boost to about 16psi. I'd keep it stock without supporting modifications though.

Out of interest what was wrong?

schoolboy error  thought i was typing 13psi in the boost controller. but was actually a different setting.downloaded the blitz instructions and and followed them :D re boost not gonna turn up the boost anymore at the moment but from what i can see it looks like a standard intercooler.even thou it was advertised as a uprated 1? but was is the cheapest option going for a uprated intercooler? thanks again
