Coming home last night from my mates house it was late ish, the road i was on had just turned into a dual carriageway and there wa a set of lights in front on red, there was a car in the right hand lane so i pulled up in the left lane had a glance as pulled up and saw the M3 badge. Two youngish lads looking straight back at me............nice 1!!!!! Waited for the lights2change and 2 see how he reacted he set off slowly, so i did then he gave it some beans so i followed 1st 2nd into 3rd had a look round nowhere 2 b seen!!!!! Then had 2 slam on for a set of red lights! He pulled up along side me i was grinning and so was his mate in the passenger seat, the driver on the otherhand was not looking happy at all LOL!!!! He booted if off and i set of slowly knowing i had proven my point. How much for a new M3 £50-60 thousand gutted!!

My mildly modded rev 3 kept pace with a M3 for a good hour and half on one of those "other websites" that organise Sunday afternoon drives in the country for sports cars The M3 driver was a nice old chap and we chatted after and he said how little in it there seemed to be. The main difference I would say is the naughty side of a 100 mph where (on a closed road of course) the M3 will pull slowly away but that’s about it in my experience


<100 on the straights there was really nothing much it, except the MR2 doesn’t sound like a baked bean tin with rocks in it being shaken... the M3 however ....

Whats the spec 4 the new 1???? My tubby is not standard, even when it was i roasted a older M3 on the straights but lost to it in the braking area as i needed some new pads.

Whats the weight of one?? Last time i draged my car i was under 5seconds o-60, and just waiting to sort my boost out a bit better then i am going to get in on a rollin road. Have you raced your car yet??Very nice by the way.

The current M3 BMW say weighs 1,570 and gets to 60 in 5.2 seconds.

Quite supprised as I thought that they would be heavier than that but it seems not!

I'm with Mark on this one. I've come up against a good few M3's new and old and butchered the things every time!

It's the e36E that didn't come up with the goods, e46 is supposed to be bang on, but don't hold me to it. To 90ish i think it's a fair fight, but after that, 340bhp is 340bhp, no matter how you slice and dice it, the CSL's are stupidly quick, the ones I've seen appear to be much quicker than the stockers and my Supra for that matter.

I went against one of these at santa pod in june and trounced it. It was over a second slower than me.

I won;t go into my dealings with these M3's. I had a pop at one and he couldn't get away from me. Ended with me passing.

My mate organised a RR day for the new M3's. Only 3 made the standard power (2 modded one standard IIRC) the rest as standard were way under.

2 of my mates have got new M3s and after being out in them I can believe that a slightly fettled Rev3 would stay with them. They really don't feel quick and certainly not what I expected from nearly 350bhp of M-tech. Plus they both spend more time at BMW than they do on the road, so if you ever race one there's a good chance it'll break down and you'll pass it anyway!
And then there was one at the RS owners club Nationla Day @ Donnington and it got killed by most things. Looked and sounded gutless.

Overall not very impressive cars once you start the engine!

His was in and out of BMW

After 6000 miles it had a new gearbox. With my car at 1.0 bar Boost, Decat and Zorst we raced numerous times up to 100 and there was nout in it. We were both trying

However the one time we went over 100 it pulled a pretty large gap
