My Black Rev 2 GTS

Post by pusherman25 »

Hi all,
pretty new to the site. Picked her up last august after coming out of the royal marines and needing something to keep me entertained.
Always been a petrol head, been to the nurburgring in 2008 and regularly attack castle combe. I used to be an active member of both saxosportsclub and organised a few trackdays, then did the same for cliosport.net so i'm looking forward to getting involved with all you imoc guys.

Bit of a history of my cars;

went from this

to this

to this lol - finally got something that was RWD (RIGHT WHEEL DRIVE)

and then finally this baby which is the first thing to keep my attention.

spec is as follows;

Rev 2 GTS Turbo
Stage 1 CT26 with forge actuator
TRD 1.4mm head gasket
Reworked cylinder head
HKS 264 cams
HKS adjustable cam pullys
Greddy cambelt
Blitz Access ECU
Blitz BOV
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Exedy clutch
Uprated TRD LSD
HKS Hiper exhaust system
3" Downpipe
Apexi intake
New hardpipes
Samco coolant pipes
Greddy side mount intercooler
Rouge twin extractor fans
Aftermarket oil cooler + remote filter
Blitz dual SBC boost controller
Apexi turbo timer
TRD shocks and springs
Tarox front and back discs
EBC redstuff pads
Blitz boost gauge
Cusco front strut brace
TRD rear strut brace
Black 3point harnesses
Enkei Split rim alloys (not sure of model)

hmm thats all i can think of off the top of my head. i'm massively impressed with the car, i've not had it on a dyno but the previous owner did and it apparently made 320bhp... i'm guessing thats gonna be at the fly based on the spec and what other peoples tubbys are making plus the limit of the turbo etc.

Really love the drive, got a massive amount of respect for the car and love the way it handles, delivers power etc. my aim would be to make it an extremely capable GT car... basically what the car is meant to be, i've been down the stripped hardcore route before with my mx5 and it was just uncomfortable to live with, so the leather is staying for sure. I'm after about 350 - 400bhp but i want it smooth and very usable.
Got a set of poly bushes to go on, just waiting for a nice day to get it done, going to heat wrap the downpipe and fit a turbo jacket i've bought and replace the boost pipe silicon hosing and try and tart it up a touch. Got a new stereo to go in plus 3 x stack gauges to measure oil temp, oil pressure and volts.

Down the line, probably next summerish when it needs a cambelt and the engine is coming out anyway i'm going to fit forged pistons, rods, arp bolts from top to bottom, some kind of ball bearing turbo to deliver the power i want (thinking disco potato or gt30 or something that spools super fast), uprated fuel system, probably an emerald ecu or similar, uprated brakes (maybe willwood etc)...

think thats about it, i'll top up piccies when i get busy with the bushes and gauge fitting etc but i think thats about it. cheers for reading all

Thats all you can think of??? haha, dude thats a pretty impressive spec!!
You should get it dyno-ed for the sake of it, id guess its easily topping 300+

gotta love this weather, just spent the day abusing my hands trying to fit a full set of poly bushes to the mrpoo. the fronts were a breeze... i was sat there sippin a san miguel thinking i knew Japanese cars were nice to work on but this is a joke...

then took off one back wheel at 13:00... its now 15:03 an i've been fighting with the rear bushes for just over 2 hours lol.. managed to get the strut rod one done and the rear tie rod, think its called that anyhow... well the one i cant do is the bush that fits in the join where the two massive nuts attach the two bars together... any ideas?

and who in japan decided to hide the second rear anti roll bar bolt in a completely hidden place on top of the rear subframe... brilliant... the rest of my knuckles will be gone by 4 i'd imagine.

few piccies from the polybushing session and a recent blast i had with my mate in his new e39 m5...
we're both of to the nurburgring next month so all the prepping is for that.

Image
when i removed my apexi n1 exhaust system... it was far far too loud and I wasn't mega keen on the look of it so replaced it with the HKS HIpower

few of the polybushing session too;

from this;

to this :D
i've replaced all of the front end bushes, the majority of the back ones but i'm still stumped on the rear anti roll bar bushes and the one that has the massive nut on the back too..
Image
its number 6 and 7 i cant do... any hints or tips would be wicked...

next on my list is some kind of uprated engine mount, my stack gauges, two new rear tyres (toyo t1r) and some tarting up with polishing etc etc and new silicon hoses...

a few from the drive the other night;

we have a little wager on the best lap time set while we're there... i managed a 9:40 in my 1.6 mx5 pictured above on my first every visit there so hopefully the lorrly load more torque and power i should be able to chop into that nicely...
i've just sorted out an in car camera mount so i can capture some of the antics... keep your eyes peeled for that
