Some very good points raised here.

This meet has come on massively in the past year or so. Since Mike started it all.

However with the recent JTuner article it is increasingly likely that we are going to have some sort of "Chav" element arriving :(

However we should not let this put us off what is essentially OUR meet ;)

I have recently been given permission to represent the SXOC and hopefully approach Bluewater with the intention of getting 2 things for us...

1) Some official recognition for this as currently we are just "tolerated" :(

2) Some sort of "backup" should we end up overrun with idiots we can't deal with ourselves (we would effectively make a phone call and security would come help us )

I cannot see Bluewater giving us too much of a hard time over this unless we really ruin it for ourselves.

But I would implore everyone to keep turning up. As long as the sensible ones vastly out number the idiots then it is likely that we will be able to continue our meets.

Remember, what we have there is somewhat unique in that it involves all Jap stuff not just MR2s / Scoobies / Civics / 200SXs Yes we no doubt all have our respective individual meets but this is something different and as such should not be allowed to disappear.

See you all on the 26th ;)

im sure even the chavs wont want this.

blood!
i dont mind to much chavs having a look at the cars, but parking up next to these jap cars is wrong. (like they did to you)
they should park somewhere else, then walk over and have a look.

I should think it would not be a problem provided it is the MR2 crowd behaving.
If we (never been to Bluewater but the comments apply to other meets as well) all behave and liaise with the local security / police as is required and try and keep the MR2 reputation clean then not only do we increase the chance of getting some official recognition but also greater assistance from the security / police etc when it all goes pear shaped and the chavs arrive.

p.s. death to the chav scum ruining our meets!

I'll have a simple yet effective solution in place for the next meet though so with any luck we should see a change =D>

Best,

I've been a member of many cruises, and have been thrown out of many car parks, or stopped from gettin in them by stupid sized speed humps (well anything over a fag lighter is too big in my car) so i will not move. Its too nice a spot!!

You want people to hand out flyers? Then i'll do it, because i want to stay! (can i have a nice bright yellow jacket too?)

I'll stop the scum [-(
I'll allow the nice cars :salut:
I'll hand out the flyers :rambo:
I'll even say nice things to people as they enter :thumright:
We will show them right from wrong. :thumleft:
We just need to be united and forthright!

Like i said before people power baby!!

the thing is alot of the other clubs who come along are now regulars too. its only the new people that could ruin it.

maybe it is a matter of giving out flyers or stating the fact it is just park up and look around on entry to the car park, just once

then if another week someone does come and b a bit stupid, then it wont just be the mr2 owners that will moan, it'll be all the regulars of all clubs. So hopefully these people will realise what the meet is about

Hi all, i attended the Bluewater meet for the first time the other week and found it a complete contrast to the norm tbh, there will allways be nubties everywhere you go...........

But. Turning on your car for a by standing to listen to a custom exhaust mod i think is a acceptable thing at any meet! :? I wouldnt call myself a Chav :-k  , but the guy with the red car that has been named and shamed isnt part of any forum and perhaps isnt of the same thinking, is it possible a event organiser could produce a leaflet explaining what is and isnt acceptable behaviour, at the same time a welcome message perhaps, i think this would completey change the atmosphere and behavior of those attending, also anyone not following the guidlines will be frowned upon by all!
The difficulty is in how to determin what one person finds acceptable against the other.

Hi Mike i had no idea you started this meet, in which case i should have said Well done and thanks as it was a good turn out and i did enjoy myself.
In fairness, the best (Technical) part of the meet for me, was hearing how the chappy with the red car mated a turbo exhaust to a na, and then hearing it! i thought it was great, and definately thinking outside the box! the guy seemed young and a little fresh to the mr2 world, my point is i think these chaps need more guidance than a big stick.

OOPs there i go again rant rant rant.
Anyway i think it was great with small exceptions and i certainly hope it will continue.

welcoming flyers wll be handed out next Tueaday, along with guidlines as to what is acceptable / unacceptable behavior on what is essentially PRIVATE LAND.

The authorities at Bluewater (they have their own security) turn a blind eye to us using their carpark for a meeting place.

They will not however tollerate loud music, revving of exhausts, dangerous driving etc etc and will pull the plug on us beling allowed to use "their" carpark in future.

No-ones gonna be handing out "rules", but like you menetion a "welcome to the meet" flyer, detailing it's origins, it's connection with the so far very generous Bluewater Security, along with a brief outlining of what behavour is required from people to ensure the meet can run and run.

thanks,
Frank. O:)

Cone of a few entrances and have volunteers allow people in car by car as appropriate.

Anything going on outside is open season for their security teams.

think that's complete overkill in all honesty..
also it is provate land as mentioned before - still a carpark owned by Bluewater - they are willing to turn a blind eye to us parking and chatting, but cordoning off areas of public carparking is not really an option.

cheers,
Frank.
