[Mk2] [Turbo] ECU mine's

Post by cotoCRX »

hi,

I have a mr2 3sgte rev3, and I am to find a ECU mine' S, only it is planned for ST205.
I have to test it, the engine turns, but the “check engine” remains lit. Moreover, I do not have any more power-assisted steering!

I sought a little on Internet, and I noticed that the “pins” was placed in another manner.

http://www.alltrac.net/reference/

Did I want to know, so of the harness of conversion existed? Or if it is necessary that I even replace the sons me?

Sorry for my english

Regards

It will be expecting a chargecooler pump. I take it you get error code 54 - this is the code for coolant level I think.

The ST205 has an air to water chargecooler instead of an intercooler like the MR2 has. There are electrics attached to this and unless you either replace them with resistors or have the chargecooler fitted to the MR2 you will get engine warning lights and the ECU will go into safe mode.

You can fix the power steering problem by removing the PSCT pin from the ECU loom on a rev3.

The MINES ECU is just a modified stock ECU and will have a fixed map in it for particular engine mods - unless you know what these mods are then there's little advantage to fitting it.

Thank you for your answers.

For the chargecooler I suspected well to have a code error yes, and it is logical. Will the ECU return in "safe mode" (rev limit 3000rpm etc...)? or then just a code error which won't prevent from rolling?

For the power-assisted steering, that my surprised.
I will test what you say to me. Should the wire just be disconnected? or to try to put it at the good place on the ECU? (if I refer has diagrams, as the bond which I put at the top)

my turbo has the same configuration appreciably that mine's for this ECU recommends it

still thank you

The whole time code 54 exists the ECU will be in safe mode (rev limit, wastegate boost pressure, heavily retarded timing etc). If you read the GT4 forums you will see loads of people trying to get around this problem because the ST205 guys like to fit big intercoolers instead of the chargecooler.

The power steering works that way because the GT4 has a belt driven power steering pump, so the ECU has nothing to do with power steering. On rev3+ if the PSCT pin is not connected to anything it will continue to work. However the ST205 ECU grounds the PSCT pin which turns the power steering off.

I double checked this on my ECU today and it's the PSCT pin you have to disconnect not the PS pin.
