I heard a rumour that Sony intended the game to be a historical driving simulator.

Histrorical in the fact that by the time they release it, fossil fuels and the combustion engine will be a distant memory and vehicular transport will have been replaced by teleportation.

I sincerly hope the game is awesome, however I reckon there will be alot of dissapointed faces as it just wont live up to the hype or the wait!

What exactly was the point in the Prologue btw? I have that and last week I got Forza 3, which forgetting the size and the fact it's a full game, is absolutely amazing in comparison to Prologue.

If the full game ever comes out, it'll need to be 100 times better than Prologue to come close to justifying all the fannying around from the developers. But as Bender says, chances are, if/when it does come out, there will be a lot of people asking "why did it take so many years"

Of course there will be more people claiming it's the best game ever created, simply because it is part of the franchise they are all a custom to now.

Matt gt5p is over 2 years old now and you are comparing it to the latest forza?

Even at that there is nothing in it, I mean the graphics both have their good and bad points but forza is FAAAR more arcadey than gt5p and i own both have played them both recently.

Also please remember that gt5p even 2 years ago was running at 60fps at a native 1080p where as forza only runs at 720p

Also given the fact that gt5p is over 2 years old i don't see how you can say it's rubbish? If a brand new forza is only as good as a 2yr old gt5p then i'm confident that gt5 will be something special.

I really enjoyed forza but found i got bored with it rather quickly as it was just too arcadey, Whereas i loved the gt series and have spend many many many hours on them right from the ps2 to the ps3.

oh and if your next argument is about gt5p being half a game please remember it was only half the price when it was released and even then had a shed load more gameplay then most £40 games did and even do have today

It's the same game with more cars and more tracks, It was a taster of what the ps3 and polyphony can do and yes it's taken up til now 2 years for the full game to come out but so what? It's not life or death, it's just a computer game, yes i'm looking forward to it butit's not like i can't sleep at night.

I'd rather have a fully completed/polished game that the half finished games that we are getting these days!

For example MW2 was out 2 years later than MW1 and it's the most buggy,glitchy game i've ever played and the single player is tiny!

Bioshock 1 + 2 are another example the first also came out 2 years ago but the 2nd is pretty much the same game?????

And forza 3's NATIVE resolution is 720p but your tv will upscale it if it can, The blurb on the back of the box tells you that it's COMPATABLE with 1080p tv's

Not in the slightest. I was simply asking what was the point in GT5P. I refuse to believe that when, after all this time, the proper game comes out, it will be anything like GT5P. IMO, it was just a money maker off the back of the name. It wasted a lot of peoples time and money and gives a false representation of what the real game will be.

The only reason I threw Forza in there was to show that when some one actually wants to put out a top class game, they can. I imagine Turn 10 or who ever made it started after the GT5 developers and finished it considerably earlier. IMO (and an awful lot of others) GT5 is the biggest joke in the gaming world right now because it's taken twice as long to be released (and counting) as it should have done.

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that by keeping every one waiting so long that they are going to make the game look WORSE than it will be, purely because every one will be expecting it to be better.

Matt as i've said already it's been just over 2 years since gt5p was released, You are making out as if it's been 5-6 years, There was 2 years between biosamegame 1 + 2 and mw1 + 2 so it's not like it's anything new.

Sony dropped the ball on this one, if GT5 was available on launch they would have sold alot better in the early days.

I love it when people compare Forza to GT5. The fact that it is even comparable at all is a MASSIVE win for Forza and Turn 10. If turn 10 took 5 years can you imagine how amazing that game would be?

If GT5 didnt look amazing then people really would wonder what the hell they have been doing for the past 5 years!!

And as of this years E3 it is 5 years and thats only when we got to know about it so probably longer. Duke Nukem anyone?

mikee that comparison you posted, i wouldnt say that either of the games was hugely better than the other. They just have a different graphical style.

Forza does some things better and so does GT5.

You say youd rather have a well polished game. Well thats what Forza is and it didnt take anything near 5 years.

Alot of people say it IS the better driving sim too so theres another argument there.


At the end of the day the game has taken waaaaaay too long to deliver and i see absolutely no justification for all that time.

The prologue was a money maker too. Probably to fund the rest of the development who knows.


Just to add more to the fire. If GT5 is so great, why did sony themselves willy up in there marketing and use a Forza graphic to advertise GT5?

GT5 is finished, They're just effing about now. They're probably waiting for a high profile 360 exclusive to be dated then throw GT5 out a week before that for that?

GT5P was GT4 off the PS2 in HD. GT5 went back to the drawing board with a new game engine hence the rediculous delay (and getting the PSP version completed)

GT5P was exactly what they called it.

Or, taking advantage of a desperate market. Plus, this was in the time they were getting hammered for not having any good games or exclusives.
