This is my first Mr2 and have enjoyed ten years of ownership.
Mods
- Moongoose exhaust and decat, HKS mushroom filter and induction kit, rear blanking plate, ACE alloys with Avon tyres all round (all replaced in last six months, smoked front clusters, reverse glo dials. Razo gear knob and rhons leather gear gaitor. Razo Foot pedals and foot rest. Rear engine strutbrace.Mechanial- The engine was replaced 12months ago with a reconditioned one with 44k on it and at the same time it was treated to a new water pump and various pipes, cam belt and clutch and gear box oil were all replaced.
The water pump went initially,and due to the pump needing replacing i replaced as much as i could seeing as the engine was coming out to save further work in the future.
The radiator is approximately two years old and was replaced using a brand new unit.
In the past six months it has had a full coolant change and both heater pipes of death have been bi-passed.
Also the drop links have been replaced and a reconditioned steering rack has been fitted. The alternator has been replaced just before Christmas
I have always given the car atleast 8 coats of wax/polish every year which has kept the body work in good order.
I am very particular about paint work and it does have some small scratches on the car but none of them too noticable- i wouldnt take it to the shows if they were !!! The paint work is very good considering its a 17 this year and has always been commented on for how good it is.The interior is in good condition but with usual wear on the drivers bolster, passenger seat it spot on.
The passenger door lock barrel has been damaged a few years back by someone trying to get in it but has never bothered me and is not noticeable but cannot be used. It has 5 months of tax left and 6 months MOT.
It doesnt have much in the way of soundsystem and is the original speaker with a tired head unit.
The imobiliser has been currently disconnected due to it giving up and would need replacing.
Battery replaced in October 09.
132215 miles on the clock but the engine has done alot less.
I spent well over
£1000's on her last year and has always been my spoilt pride and joy. I wont see her go without a fresh oil and filter change and the aerial is about to be replaced. The pics were taken approximately 5 months ago, more in my garage
