Idiot in 3S-FE pile of crap on Sat 27/02/10 in Beaconsfield, Bucks

Driving my red Rev3 G-Limited from Beaconsfield Old Town towards Holtspur along the A40, in heavy rain, in a line of cars driving at approx 45MPH (in a 50MPH zone), turning left into the road before the Holtspur roundabout leading over the M40 (constant S-bends, 40MPH zone and potholes all over the place).

You:

Driving your blue 3S-FE Rev1 with black alloys and round, yes round, front fog lights, fully ablaze (where was the fog?) and aimed high so they blind the driver of the car in front, started off about 8 cars behind me as I was leaving the Old Town, driving like an idiot, overtaking cars in a dangerous manner, forcing your way back into traffic when your poverty spec engine ran out of power and you could overtake no more, tucking in behind me and flashing your head lights at me and giving me the thumbs up before overtaking me on a blind bend and giving me the Removed by admin sign, presumably because I refused to acknowledge your existence and did not want to race you.

Anyone here?

ive seen one round here that fits that description (as long as it has tinted blue everything )

looked like a MASSIVE chav when he was behind me on one of the A41 turnoffs - trying to "drift" the roundabouts with his mate in the car "brapping it up" or whatever

No tints, normal rear lights and the front fogs were clear and very bright.

on a completely random note, do you ever go into berko? i might have been stuck behind you that day when they shut the a41 due to the snow
i remember a red mr2 being the car infront but i didnt want to look like a "douche" so i sat there behind you quietly (black rev 5)

Not me. My MR2 was parked up during the bad weather and I used my Merc instead.

Thats harsh, as an ex-FE owner, they are great fun to drive, have to rag the nuts off it to get the best out of it. I enjoyed driving mine more than my turbo.

Harsh but fair.

I also once had a 'FE Rev 1 and thought it was great, but 119BHP is not enough to propel a Mk2 MR2 at an adequate rate.

If you work the FE engine it goes fine. Got to really work it though, more effort than with a 3SGE or 3SGTE but well worth it. Rare engine in them nowadays too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a couple of years ago when we briefly met at a classic car show, (you were there with a chap from whom I bought a set of 14" Rev1 alloys), when I confessed to having recently bought a Rev 1 3S-FE Coupe MR2, you responded by asking "why did I buy that piece of s***?". On the back of that comment I thought you were a bit of a dick and promptly made my excuses and left.

How strange that you are now standing up in defence of the 3S-FE!

The story is probably twisted anyway, you got owned by an FE spec car and you have thrown your rattle out the pram

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a couple of years ago when we briefly met at a classic car show, (you were there with a chap from whom I bought a set of 14" Rev1 alloys), when I confessed to having recently bought a Rev 1 3S-FE Coupe MR2, you responded by asking "why did I buy that piece of s***?". On the back of that comment I thought you were a bit of a dick and promptly made my excuses and left.

I don't recall the incident myself. Depends on which classic car show it was as to whether it was me or not.

As it was I am standing up in defence of the 3SFE as I had one for just over 6 months myself.

If I did say it, it was because I carried the usual prejudices you see here in the MR2 clubs against the 3SFE engine, but having tried it I found it a hoot.

People can be wrong and change their minds.

What's the name of your friend that has / had a white Celica and is in the process of putting a V6 engine in the back of his Mk1 MR2? He's based on the south coast. Anyway, he's the chap that introduced me to you at the car show, back in the second half of 2008. The show was down in Hampshire somewhere, not far from the coast. You introduced yourself as Malcolm aka Tiamat.

Anyway, with reference to the above, whilst it is ok for Turbo owners to boast about how their cars are better than every other car on the road, it would seem that those rights are not extended to owners of NA MR2s. Just as well really that I don't give a ****.
