Toad ai606

Hi

my central locking works from the alarm fob if the engine is not switched on. when the car is started the anti hijack is spose to close the doors. It tries to do this but automatically reopens. Has any one had this happen and how can it be sorted.

Whats the Toad ai606 like? I'm thinking about getting one of these. How much did you pay? Is £260 inc VAT reasonable?

I dont know how much it cost it was already fitted to the car. Have no problems with the alarm in general and all my other cars had toad alarms and never had trouble with them. Would recomend you buy one.

The toad Ai606 is a no frills alarm that does exactly what it says on the tin - I had it fitted to my mr2 when i brought it a couple of years ago - cost around £400 back then - if you have a t-bar go for the microwave sensor option instead of the standard ultrasonics as this prevents false alarms when you have the roof off or windows open but still gives the same protection if not better.

Make sure you have it fitted by an approved toad dealer or toad themselves as you will get lifetime support - which is bloody brilliant. As ive had the microwave sensor replaced once and then had the whole alarm recalibrated at no extra charge.

If you want, the alarm can accomodate certain upgrades like total closure and remote engine start or even just have it pop up your headlights which can be operated from the keyfob.

I would highly recommend this alarm.

Ive got a simmilar problem my doors dont lock when im driving, i got it fitted up in scotland at a Toad dealer there, but i was gonna take it to fortknox in town to see if they can sort it out for me. They are an autherised dealer.

its got something to do with the factory remote central locking system, or so im told. but it would be nice to have this feature working as this is why i bought the alarm in the first place.

The Toad Ai606 is an excellent alarm.
I've had one fitted to 4 of my previous cars

I'm getting one fitted to my rev 2 tubby this Sunday in Harrogate, where I work, for £235 by a guy called Ian Mewse, who's based in Leeds.

Are your doors close properly????? If they are not closed properly they wont lock the door!!!!

i had one of these on an impreza, did the same thing, kept locking me out, locking me in, was a pain in the a*se, maybe i had a duff one...

Doors are closed properly.

If the engine is running the doors will not lock, switch the engine off and the doors will lock.

Fortknox fitted my last one to my RS fiesta and that worked a dream, i did pop min and ask if they would look at it. They said they would but havent had chance. Once i find out will let you know
