Some of you may know that my first trip to WIM back in October last year led to them actually breaking one of my wheels on their

'touchless' machines.

That said they repaired the wheel as they promised and I have been giving them positive feedback and recommendations since for the geo work was seemingly very well done.

Unfortunately that's changed today after a second visit for new front tyres and for fine tuning the geo set up after the new rears I had put on the first time had scrubbed in and I was still left with a slightly nervous feeling front end

(perhaps they should advise clients to have their geo done before fitting new rubber so adjustments can be felt for what they are?).

The fronts were priced up and I was given a figure of

£40 for the secondary geo stuff.

When all was done however I was billed today for a

'full' geo set up at over

£95.

When I complained of the difference I was told simply that the car needed it as several settings were out.

Whether it did or not is in my view not the point.

My frustration is at having to pay for works I did not authorise and was not consulted about.

They could have come to talk with me about it as I waited in their reception before going ahead could they not? I was also told that individual adjustments weren't possible as everything effected everything else so really all settings had to be considered at once.

Fine, but why then quote the

£40 for the

'follow up' tweeks?
Maybe it's just poor communication but once again I've left them feeling agrieved and that's not what I as an enthusiast pay my money for.

Indeed I'll happily pay more for good explanations to help my own understanding of my car and a better than usual service.

Thumbs down from me I'm afraid and certainly my last visit to WIM regardless of their apparently otherwise good reputation.

I'm in the process of writing to them to voice these concerns

(that had no effect when verbalised at the time) and will update this thread once I have a response for you.

R.
