Original Phoenix Power Demo Car - Breaking for spares?

Post by lockys96 »

Just got back from my vacation in tokyo, after i decided 3 years in my poxy job was enough for me, the plan was to stay 2weeks but i ended up staying 23 days by extending my trip whilst i was out there...

yes, japan is a total different culture, but its far more than i expected, and find myself enjoying it too much out there.

i find myself at the age of 25 and in prime conditions to pursue a working holiday visa for 1 year, i have applied for a job whilst out there, attended an interview and am just waiting.

Currently running 480hp and 390ftlb at 1.5bar through a fujitsubo Legalis r exhaust (that is the limit for the exhaust being mapped safely With egt’s being under 900 all the time around track), this turbo is still to large For what I was eventually aiming for, as the current power is ideal for track, Just the turbo is not even being worked, if you changed the exhaust to something More free flowing, 1.7bar would flow 570hp, there is so much more ignition Timing that can be added. The car has previously had this Power figure at that boost, however many new things were added at rebuild.

Just as an example this borg warner sx300 with 91.ar outspools a gt35r with .68ar, and does not have ball bearings, just simply oil fed.

The car is 96-97db at 5,000rpm tested at brands hatch, and twin open wastegates are
Not a problem.

All work carried out by the trusted garage since ownership 2 ½ years, only 1 UK owner From import through Jm-Imports, car has seen So many trips to dyno’s, changed turbo’s 3 times, from changing the car from a drag Car using a T88-34D, to where it is now. Been through 3 4 ecu's, hks pro gold, link, link plus, solaris s6.

No expense spared.

All mapping work carried out by Ryan 2-bar tuning.

i know ive missed things, car exibited 2005 tokyo auto salon

I cant see myself keeping my nearly finished Track project Mr2, after 2 years on money, stress and graft, it will not get used the way it should if i just store it.

with the car costing 13k, just recently having a full fresh rebuild 5k +, it owes me over £30k,lol. i can make out 12k in parts ive bought and over 8k labour in 2 years. if i can avoid selling, i will, but i know i need about 5k to make japan work

i was looking for something considerably cheaper but considering the spec, it would be rude not to throw my hat in if its only 5k

Such a shame to see this being broken :pale:

It is so hard to sell an expensive MR2 though, so understand why.

Good luck :thumleft:
