2 Items of Bioshock News

Post by matt_mr2t »

Unless something happens, Bioshock 2 is due out on 9th February \:D/

And, I stumbled across this yesterday!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1230526/

I think I just let a little wee out!!

First time I played that game it struck me as possibly the best story to go from game to film you could hope for!

Might have to get some nappies as this is getting me quite excited to say the least.

I've lent the first game to a colleague who is taking his time playing it. I just asked for it back as I wanna run through it all again before starting No.2

It does look pretty sweet!

I need more monies!!

I wonder if Bioshock 2 will be as highly acclaimed as the first one, which won all sorts of awards. Of if perhaps the originality of the story in the first one is what got it there.

The start was probably one of my fave bits in Bioshock.

Loved entering the lighthouse and hearing/seeing the lights coming on.

Knew straight away the atmospehere was going to be fairly immense.

The first Bioshock set the bar pretty damn high. The Story is one of the most enjoyable i've played through with all it's twists and turns and rapture itself was brilliantly thought out and presented. Certainly one of the best games of 7th gen consoles. I just hope it doesn't feel like "more of the same" second time round. We'll soon find out.

I've tried finishing Bioshock on Survivor before the second one comes out but I realize I don't have the required patience or skill so far :D

I think i need to play through it again before 2. I was too busy finding big daddys to fight and didnt catch the whole story.

I think it looks like it builds on the awesomness of the first. Combat looks alot sharper anyway and Rapture was fine how it was as you said.

Add an extra coat to the graphics and its a winner.

Well it's set 10 years after the first one and you play as a big daddy this time. Apparently you have to as you'd never beat the "big sisters" in this one as a normal human.

I was wowed by the graphics in the no.1 so no doubt, with a few years more practice, this'll be even better.

Colleague just brought my copy back in, going to go through it again before no.2 comes. Unlike Andy, I'm just gonna do it on easy for the story benefits
I found it almost impossible on medium when I first played it, bloody hard game.

And for the record, you say it's one of the best of the 7th gen consoles. I say it's just the best.

Confused.com

Initially play said release date 09.02 but now it's saying in stock.

I pre-ordered it in January, but I havent been billed for it nor have I had communication from play to say the order has gone through.

Also, if I get it early, am I gonna end up banned from XBL for playing it??

Maybe in stock but just not shipping until 8th/9th...

Unless 2K have changed the release date, which as far as I'm aware they haven't; Play would be in trouble for selling it early.

either way its odd.

It wouldnt be the first time Play have got things out before the release date.

The only other time I pre-ordered something from them was a Chili Peppers album and I got that a few days early. Pretty much every one I know has recieved things early from them when pre-ordering.

STATUS Packing: 05/02/2010

Andy - £34.99 on Play, not quite as cheap, but I think it was £39.99 when I pre-ordered it.

They must have had a special contract between 2K and Play.com (for whatever reason) to do this... must be a bit of a slap in the face for all the other retailers.

anyway let us know what you think...

(must admit I was put off Bioshock 2 a bit by the trailors... just looks like more of the same, fingers crossed for it being good and not another poor sequel cash in)

No special deals, all retailers will get the stock of anything like this before the release date. I imagine play, and any other online retailer delivering will send it out early to make sure you get it BY the release date.

It's still listed as packing, so I doubt I'll get it before next week now.
