Anyone excited about this? I am currently downloading the PC beta client and going to pre-purchase through play.com to get the early access key.

It's only around £26.99 from Play.com while Steam whats 39.99 for it! Retail is around 34 I think.

Been playing the demo a good amount over the past few days, and its great fun. I love the way conquest plays out and the map keeps moving. Plus I am awesome as sniper!

The guns on the other classes are a bit poop at the moment – I suspect its due to the Iron sights obscuring most to the screen. I have seen guns with holographic sights so I presume they just need to be unlocked.

Good shout on the Play price – will get that ordered

meh, you must be the lucky ones who got the "free" beta keys? I only found out about the beta yesterday so I pre-ordered with Play and now waiting for them to send the beta key

still some bugs to iron out for the PC platform. It seems that the main target for this game are consoles (Xbox/PS3) and most stuff for the PC is just a port

However, I think there are a few stuff reserved for PC version that is not in the Beta. Fingers crossed!

Wow. Just had my first game and its intense!

Love how just about everything blows up and as someone else say, its kewl how the objectives move.

Dont see any problem with the aiming either which i think someone complained about.

Downloaded it, what a crock.

20-30fps, looks terrible when turning around - I've been spoilt by the CoD series running at 60fps

Firing your gun doesn't quite 'feel' right, in the CoD series they've got this spot on, you can 'feel' the power of some of the weapons.

Maybe I've just been too quick to judge, but it doesn't look like the 'online gameplay' videos I've seen recently

I think its way more fun that MW2.

Shootings a bit better yea but battlefield is way more realistic as theres no place to hide.

I prefer the open style levels too and vehicles are never a bad thing!

Just feels like a more complete package i guess.


What system did you play on? I thought the gfx were pretty good. I never have been one to notice screen tearing and the like though.

I've been playing this on the XBox since it came out and am really impressed with it, quite intense at times and the map on the demo is quite limiting but it's a lot of fun.

I'm more of a PC PFS person so getting used to the control pads is a bit of a chore but I'm liking it a lot.

downloaded yesterday and played a few rounds

I found I got more kills than in MW2 as it seemed a little more natural to shoot at someone - I think this was due to the large open levels or perhaps that people move around in squads?
Definitely need to get a headset also as I found myself on my own a fair bit with no-one to heal or advance with. Talking to another squad member would make it work a lot better (which I guess is how it's designed....)

Which platform are you playing it on mate? I'm not sure about consoles but I am playing on PC platform. The devs did say they are trying to sort out the fps issue and some of the high end textures are just a stand in as they don't want to reveal too much.

I agree about the firing thing though but I think they are trying to fix that. A lot of hilarious things to do though like strapping C4 on a UAV and also spamming smoke grenade on "sniper hill". My latest discovery was killing those smoke spammers down the hill by riding the ATV and jump at last minute so the ATV flies down and hits them lol.

Overall I like it more compared to MW2 as its more team orientated, which games like this should be! Also a lot of fun ways to kill people

edit: Still haven't found a way to use the specialisation that I've unlocked...this is the almost like the first time I try the BF series (tried the first one long time ago) so I'm pretty clueless.

I purposely dont look up the definition of screen tearing.

If i dont know what it looks like then ill never see it lol.

When turning, the pretty stuff on the screen, part of it (a whole horizontal block) is a frame behind the rest of it.

thats the only thing that puts me off the bad company games is the aiming. its horrible. i love the battlefield series overall bf2 on pc, modern combat on the ps2/xbox/360 and 1943 are all great but i just dont get what they did with the bc series completely spoilt a once amazing game...

Screen tearing is what PC's did in the mid 90's when they attempted 3D games on 286/386 proccessors

I really enjoyed the few games I had last night, top player on 1 too

Doesn't run as smooth as MW2 but despite that i just found it a lot more believable and enjoyable, Shame it doesn't have the quantity of players that MAG will allow but I do think this is the better of the two.

It does say early code and doesn't reprisent the finished product but wouldn't hold my breath, The PS3 port of 1943 wasn't great and buggy but it didn't stop it from being damn good fun!

I'm a headless chicken - exactly as I was when I started playing BF 1943.
And there was a lengthy period where I preferred 1943 to CoD4, so maybe this has hope.

It's just quite a bit different to CoD really.
In fact it's just 1943 but with bleached graphics and weapon upgrades
