Back in an MR2 - mk1 t-bar

Post by Jaspa »

\:D/

After just over a year of driving Honda Accords and MX5's I decided it was time to start looking for another MR2.

There is nothing wrong with MX5s, I just find the cabin space a bit too cramped and miss the engine noise from behind my head.

Criteria for the car were simple.
- Didn't matter if mk1/mk2
- Tbar
- Preferably White
- Decent amount of MOT

So yesterday I went to look at this, It's reasonably tidy. Just had it's tbar seals replaced and a fair amount of recent body and service work.

He'll need a bit of work to make perfect but for now is more than adaquate.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

I dunno, you're hankering after pink accessories and Malcolm's buying a KA.

Did you have a spare alternator off Carter?

Look's like a decent one. Clear lenses in the pipeline?

Haven't checked for alternator but did order one cheap off ebay, even if it works long enough for me to refurb mine I'll be happy.

Definately going clear lenses ASAP.

Lol, Plans at the moment are just to get him running nicely and treat it to a service and tidyup.

I'm only on a 6 month contract at the moment so until I find myself a proper job, this will be my daily runaround. After that.... I still have a hankering for a 3sgte, but gonna enjoy as stock for a little.

(I still have the hello kitty tax disc holder if anyone wants one?) :gayfight:

You know I did think of you when I saw it :oldtongue:

Car Update

I bought the car with an unknown discharge to the battery, the previous owner fitted a cutoff switch so no biggy there.

Driving the car home on monday and the alternator went up in smoke (Literally) so ordered a replacement, fitted it on wednesday in the pub carpark where I dumped the car and drove to Norwich this weekend.

Got the old man to check the electrics and it is all now spot on. Looks like it was the alternator causing all the problems.

Completed around 500 miles so far and it's so nice to be back in a car with the engine where it should be

Take one Elise backbox from Ebay (£10.50 bargain) and one trip to Owen and the lads at Kent Car Craft and you have one very happy driver

I personally don't like the single exhaust so wanted something to give the back a more symetrical look. I'm well chuffed with the look of it now 8)

Good stuff! Glad it worked out for you.

Exhaust sounds good doesn't it  just get a cone filter on there and you'll really notice the difference!

It does indeed, I have a generic cone which I'm hoping to get fitted this weekend as well as replacing a worn balljoint (So much easier to check the car when it is 6ft in the air :) )

Saw your mk3 by the way, Shiney 8) I approve :thumleft:
