wing removal (pics now added)

Post by ToyotaTosh »

Is it possible to remove a wing without removing the bumper? Or are they fixed together on the inside?

I need to replace a wing as it is creased in and stopping the headlights retracting, will the bumper find its original shape again?

on a standard bumper the wings are connected by two bolts on each side.
you wouldnt need to remove the front bumper, just the nuts holding the bumper to the wings on each side.

arch liner can stay in, just need to undo the screws into the edge of the wing.

i have never had to remove the bumper to change a wing and i have changed loads of them.

The arch liner does need to come off to access some of the bolts

Be prepared to repair the to toblerone though as the bolts usually shear off

my car is a UK car, so I need to remove black strip?

this sounds silly, but has anyone got any pics to highlight the areas I need to get the wing off......and will the bumper find its shape again or does it have brackets behind it?
the damage is right on the meeting line of the bumper and wing..
i'll upload a pic when its daylight to show you

sorry if iam asking a lot

Yes the black strip has to be removed, again be prepared to repair as the fixings with tend to shear off.

The bumper is fixed to the wing so will retain its shape when the new wing is fitted.
