Good Garage In North East of England?

Post by classicjoe »

Hi all just wondering if anyone knows of a good garage in the North/ NorthEast to do a bit work on my mr2 mk2 NA Rev 3.

I think I will need a new clutch fitted and a full service (similar to service 4 from Rogue)

Also trying to find standard size tires to fit the rear wheels been quoted approx £86 for Hankooks???

Don't mean to hijack the thread but is there a definitive list of 2-friendly garages anywhere?

I'm in Dumfries and always figured Woodsport would be where I take my car for a major service but I'm told he;s stopped doing service work now.

No way I'm ever taking my 2 to a "normal" garage ever again.
It's getting to the point where I'm even considering going to the local Toyota main dealer for a service. #-o

It's not that we have stopped, we never started! :D

All we have ever done at Woodsport is engine conversions and paintwork, we don't take in cars for servicing or general repairs. I do the odd Mk1 timing belt and look after a few of the local lads cars but we stay away from general repairs and focus 100% on conversions into all sorts of Toyotas , not just Mr2's. However if you were desperate and had nowhere else to turn to we would not see you stuck.

Hope that helps. :thumleft:

If your local to a tyre spot try them for tyres Toyo T1-R's are around £80-90 fitted. As for servicing i have no idea, i do the regular oil changes etc myself and take it to a friends garage for the rest.

Would be nice to have a guy that knows about '2's that would do general servicing etc, as mr wood says he's busy with conversions :)

Where's Peter Gidden based, he's up north somewhere isn't he? (Apologies for enormous generalisation, if it's further north than Northampton then it's up north in my mind) :thumleft:
