leaking driveshaft boot an MOT failure?

i have a leaking driveshaft boot. its only slightly noticable. is this an MOT failure?

or will i get an advisory?

Im pretty sure its only outside CV boots that can cause an MOT failure, if its leaking on the outside it should be a definate fail.

Might be worth double checking on MOT website.

If it is outer (near to discs it will fail) inner (gearbox side) should be fine. :thumleft:

I really should have a definitive answer to this as i'm on my 2nd day of MOT NT training, lol.

Unless the driveshaft forms part of the suspension system it should not be tested on a rear wheel drive application, so imagine if you took away the driveshaft would it affect the rigidity and fixed position of the suspension i.e alter roadworthiness and geometry?

I'm unaware of the exact setup on the rear of an mr2 as i've only had mine a few weeks and haven't had much ramp time.

But as a rule i would say that it should pass if memory serves me right.
