Gauging Interest - What's it Worth 1990 MK1b

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

In the summer I may have to sell my beloved '2 unfortunately and get something either a little bit more modern or crazier :)

But I just thought I'd see how much it could be worth before I completely make up my mind!

1990 Mk1b (registered middle of march 1990) - One of the very last.
128k Miles
TAX & MOT will be FEB 2011 and September 2010
SuperWhite 043
Clutch changed @ 124k
Cambelt changed @ 120k
Regular oil changes every 6-8k
Original Toyota Radio/Cassette player will be supplied
Spare MK3 MRS 15" alloy with tyre

Mods:
Koni adjustable suspension all round - lowered 30mm
Magnecor HT Leads (blue)
Powerflow Custom Stainless Exhaust (seriously loud) - See Pic
Blitz SUS Air filter (located in boot)
MK3 MRS 15" Alloys on Vredstein rubber 195/50/15V all round
Clear indicators and front lenses
Rhon’s gear white leather stick gaitor and white leather inserts
Infinity Reference 4” front replacement speakers
JL Audio 3.5” rear replacement speakers
SBits custom Stainless Steel rear tie bars
Cusco Front strut brace
Grooved rear discs with green stuff pads
Standard vented front discs with green stuff pads

Bodywork:
I had the arches filled in february last year, but they are beginning to come through again. They haven't split the surface yet though, bubbling currently. Both the front wings have been replaced. One steel, the other fibreglass. The front and rear bumpers are both original with usual blemishes. The aerial is connected but doesn't work (how unusual).

Interior is immaculate.

Any ideas?

As described, with current mods, your probably talking a rough pallpark figure of 1500

Thats not optimistic at all, fair price if description accurate.
Koni's, filter, braces, leads and brake upgrade aren't cheap upgrades. Long MOT, cambelt and clutch are also good selling points.

If you can be bothered sorting rust out, you'd be up near 1750.
If not, advert for 1500 ono, be happy with 1350.

I'd pay that myself if in the market (i'm not). Although I'd bin the exhaust and stick a magnex on it. But that's just a personal preference.

Anyhow, good luck with the sale.

Yeah I was going to get a standard exhaust and sell the powerflow off afterwards.

May as well, broaden your potential market (sorry, been watching property ladder) and maybe make a few quid in the process.

I'd get around £120-150 for the exhaust anyway. It does look mean though hehe

Mine went for £1200 if it helps - pretty similar service-wise but it was closer to standard when I sold it. I'd say you should get around £1500 no problem :thumleft:
