mine wont drive in the snow very easily being n/a it has no LSD and i have little faith in trying to catch it before the rear end goes.

having said that if i ever can aford an LSD i will have a go

It's fine as long as you drive to the conditions. Gentle right foot, smooth driving action, high gears at all time (pulling off in 2nd or 3rd ideally). The problems arise when all the water on the roads freezes, which doesn't seem to have happened here at least.

realy its no different to driving any other car in the snow... only difference i think is when turning a tight corner due to no weight at the front.

I drove mine in deep snow, my bumper and side skirt steps were scraping snow off the road lol and I managed it.

Just drive very slow and trickle around tight corners.

We had a little more than that overnight here. The roads were VERY slippery at 6am this morning and the car was struggling for grip/traction but as the others have said, just take it easy and don't be a loon

Well my GT4 was undriveable earlier in the year when we had snow. I had to use the MR2 as there wasn't any public transport -it was a little hairy but I'm surprised how well it did drive in the snow. Just drive to suit the conditions -it was the other idiots driving up my back bumper then overtaking dangerously that was the problem. There were cars going off everywhere.

yes i would and have been for a play
my friend who used to import jap cars and i help him of the collection of them from the port of tyne where they come off the ship,most of them had snow chains in the back of them,so i looked for a good set , easy to fit (no need to jack car up ). nice and tidy on ,come with own bag and set of destruction,instructions.in the boot just in case.
for how easy and quick they are to be fitted every one should have them

LoL, yea it was stuck up on the lift at work with all the brakes off it. Every time it snowed something else went on it and it went back into the garage (all fixed now though!).

Just not worth the risk. You can speak for your own actions and skills but not for the others around you. As we've seen recently (and I defnitely have! ), there seems to be a conspiracy about at the moment to destroy every nice MR2 on the road. Watch for road assassins!

I'm on Falken 452 fronts and Yoko A520 rears. A520s are their cheaper summer tyre.


Thought I'd brave it and try and go to sainsburys, promptly got stuck 100 metres up the road as soon as there was an incline.

Walked home, picked up a spade, walked back and a kindly lady in the house next to where I was stuck came out with a spade too and we dug the car out and I gingerly came back home.

Just glad I got back without kerbing my BBS.
