As I write this, I almost literally have smoke spewing from my ears! I am so angry words (though maybe actions?) cannot describe. 8 year, yes 8 frickin years of TLC spent on your baby just so some crusty old codger who probably never sat a test in the first place can drive into you!!!!!!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Obviously not {Edited by Moderator} concentrating and didnt even notice the 1.2 tonne chunk of metal coming his way. There me just driving along when he turns across me (and into me) to access an adjoining road. How he didnt see me I dont know. Bet he was on the {Edited by Moderator} phone or just senile!!!!!
My car went from my profile pics to the following in just a few {Edited by Moderator} seconds......
.....I going to cry now.

Gutted
As said above- hope you're okay buddy...how you managed not to punch the other driver I don't know.
I'm sure it's little comfort just now- but that looks very repairable from those pics...

Physically ok, though he hit me with such force I smacked my head on the T-bar panel outer bar. Emotionally exhausted from how angry Ive been for the last few hours since this happened. My blood pressure mustve been through the roof! I would have punched him if I'd gone near him. The police were there in about 5 minutes flat adn I told them straight away that I can't talk to him otherwise I'm gonna do something stupid. They got all the detail from him for me and checked his ID etc. They were quite understanding as it was so obvious I was the victim in all this and could tell how gutted i was about my car. My god, this hurts more than breaking up with my last girlfriend!!!!
Bare in mind I'd only recently had the fully forged engine, top spec Fensport CT20b and a host of other gubbins added. It was alomost at the stage where I considered it a finished project. I was already talking about the second car I was going to buy next year. A brother for my baby.
I'm gonna go cry some more......
Re: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.......WRITE OFF!!!!!!!

Unlucky fella I really feel for you. Remember though any crash you walk away from isn't all that bad... much loved I'm sure but it's just metal. Glad you're OK and best of luck sorting everything out.

Ouch
Looks like similar circumstances to the old codger who decided to pull across in front of me a few years ago, takes a while to calm down but even longer to get over the damage to your pride and joy.
Hope the aches and pains are kind to you and your insurance company sorts this out in a way that makes you smile again. In the meantime make sure you get something exciting as a courtesy car. If your insurer won't provide that think about using a claim management company.

Mate, absolutely gutted for you, it really is amazing what some people do these days
I had a guy turn in front of me in to my front driver's wing a few months ago, the damage wasn't as bead as yours, but I was absolutely fuming as well.
You'll feel a little better in a couple of days, and can make some sensible decisions about what to do with it.
Wish you well mate

Re: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.......WRITE OFF!!!!!!!
Just to add to that, if you can get the guy to fully admit liability - can't imagine he wouldn't, you don't even need to tell your insurance company.
If I were you, I'd go direct to their insurance company, as it means you get things done a lot quicker, and won't have it against your insurance record as a non-fault accident. I did this and it worked absolutely fine
Unless of course they already know...

Re: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.......WRITE OFF!!!!!!!
Feel really sorry for you. After writing off my beautiful 96 G-Limited a couple of weeks ago I was having a problem with the insurance company (one of the better one's according to the body shop).
It went to a specialist valuation section and they were sticking rigidly to the one and only offer. I had to scour every available advert and find a couple that were near enough the same age/specification etc. to prove to them that they were under valuing it. They then finally increased the offer.
Start doing your homework now by searching the ads. Also make sure that the car is retained in the body shop as they will be charging the insurance company storage by the day. It helps to point out, particularly if you go through a broker, that the longer they take to settle the higher their loss on the accumulating storage charges. They can't remove it as it remains your property until the settlement is made.
Best of luck mate.
