Finally got the car and polished it today

Nice its hard to get silver type colours to look really shiney but that looks a good job. looks like a good clean example.

Looks in excellent condition fella, nice one. Looks standard bodywise other than the wheels, is it the same inside and engine? Tell us a bit about yourself as well. There's a 20 yr old with a crashed tubby after 48 hrs on another forum here... 1st rear wheel drive. Do you mind my asking what sort of stuff you've had before?

Hi Highwaystar, cars the same inside including engine, its my first rwd so im taking it easy at the moment sold a honda crx vtec to buy this, have had loads of vauxhalls in the past only mods done to the car are recent:-
timing belt kit
upgraded exedy clutch kit
front and rear pads, discs and recon calipers.
alternator and radiator
toyota sump and gaskets
mongoose exhaust and decat pipe
hks evc 6 electronic boost controller
upgraded walbro fuel pump
sard fuel regulator
apexi induction kit
17 inch oz alloys

its on Federal ss 595 215/45R17.. these any good?

Not sure about the tyre manufacturer themselves.... is it on 215s all round though? If so be even more careful than usual since it should have a stagger of about 30mm (factory standard) front to back (standard is 195/55/15 on the front and 225/50/15 on the rear). If it's on the same width all round expect more oversteer than is usual.... a lot perhaps. Not what I'd choose to get used to the new layout

I'll have a check later, i only use this car at the weekends, the guy i bought it off put on these wheels and tyres in may and theres only around 1000miles on them, would be a shame to take them off.. Thanks for the advice though as i dont know much about these cars..

Let us know. Shame or not though perhaps more of a shame to stack it through lack of rear end grip in the wet...

If its 215s all round you could always replace the rears and keep the 215s as spare fronts.
