I thought I'd try and post a few pics of mine having seen another members BEAMS. I took the pics late last year, not had a chance to do much to it this year. I haven't updated my garage for a while but most of the mods should be in there I think. Lyndon mapped the ECU last year and we got 183Bhp at the wheels which should be around the 218mark at the flywheel so there's some proof that you can get over the 200mark without major mods and stay 4 banger N/A... until I fit my itb's (if I ever get round to fitting them)... ...I've been itching to do more on it but to be honest it's the first time I've got to a stage I'm happy with and loving it as it is -barring the lack of itb's. Hope you like
Cheers lads. The lighting's not great in those pics -was trying to be overly smart and not used my DSLR for too long but the colour comes up lovely in them. I came across them the other day though and thought they were better than I remembered though.
The seats are Recaro Speeds, only engine mods apart from lightweight flywheel and uprated clutch are a SARD induction kit, de-cat (:-$ ) and Blue flame exhaust so that's not a bad result considering most stock engines are putting out far less than the factory 197Bhp. The BEAMS uses a MAF in stock form and I had it converted to MAP ready for itb's later so the original MAF is still there as a restriction in the intake but just used for the IAT. There's definately a couple of Bhp in it if I take the MAF away and just fit a small temp sender in there but it would need a re-map. At some point I'd like to fit a slightly more free flowing exhaust header and down pipe as well. I think I got most of the mods in my garage.
I love the BEAMS personally -for what it is it's a great drive. Mind you there's not much on the car I haven't tinkered witth so far so not really comparable to a stock MR2 I guess. It seems to pull a good bit harder than it did when I started out.
