Sony PS3 Downloadable Movies

Post by JohnnyC »

Incase you didn't know (I stumbled upon it by accident), the PSN store has movies available to rent or own.

There's 50 titles up there already.

My opinion, rubbish.
For example, £11.99 for SD Terminator Salvation with 2 channel audio, no box or anything phyiscal just some numbers on your hdd. I've not been able to find out if it can be transferred to an external hdd (remember, PS3 hdd's are encrypted specifically to each PS3).

Or, pay around £9 for the DVD with 5.1 channel audio and play it on your computer/dvd player/mates dvd player etc etc.

If it were less money for less flexibility, great. But it's not

How good is the movie service on those rrod xbox's ? =P~

I use Vuze, which works on mac or PC. Get movies off that, and its recognised as a media server for your PS3 or Xbox. Its great! Existing films on your hard drive you can drag and drop into Vuze for the same purpose too.

600 points in HD, less in SD and it all works out at a similar price to Blockbuster without having to go out get the film (if they have it) and then take it back when done.

Not that I use it but it's certainly an option. I did download 300 when they were doing it for 100 points in HD last year as I wanted to watch an HD movie.
