Has anyone ever used the kits from ebay to fix the RROD?
Is it easy to DIY fix? Can anyone recomend a kit?

I gave my dead one to the guy sat to my right, he fixed it and has been using it ever since. He even ended up buying a few more RROD boxes from ebay and fixing those for his family members.

Dont bother if its still ithin the extended manufacturer warranty. Just call MS, tell them its bu88ered, stick it in a box, get it back fixed 1 week later.

My old unit showed 2 lights (not covered under warranty) I lied, told them it was 3 and just sent it off, shortly after I recieved a new Xbox.

^^ That's what I did, after 3 red lights. 1 week later had my xbox back with a new motherboard

Just FYI guys
My Xbox extended waranty expired in 2008 according to the MS site, but it still allowed for a returns lable to be printed.... so I sent it off, expecting an email saying waranty expired yada yada yada
3 weeks later they sent me out a spanky new 360 as they are having sever delays in reapiring them!

Not sure if I just got lucky or what.... just thought it might be of interest if there are older 360's about

Wont start a fresh topic, but I just got the red ring of death on my 360 aswell. How crap is that! Computers just break for looking at them the wrong way thesedays. 20 year old mega drive (which STILL works perfectly!) is coming back out for a bit I`m getting golden axe and streets of rage on the go.. $\:D/$ Anyone got the address for microsoft for where to send my xbox?I dont have the original box or instruction manuals anymore either, or even the reciept, its 2 years old
