2day old ps3 slim £150, shall i buy it?what are they worth?

a trustworthy friend of mine has a spanking new 120gb ps3 slim that he wants to sell me. its got 1 controller and a blue ray film. he is desperate for cash and has offered it to me for £150. it has the box etc but no recipt as it come free with a mobile phone contract.

is this a good deal? should i snap it up?

From what i have read lately about numerous updates the PS3 isnt in much better shape.


I was only joking though. £150 sounds like a good deal if its so new.

Grab the PS3, for £150 it's a very good deal. I have both the PS3 and XBox 360 and I have to say I like the PS3 more, it's quieter for a start and some of the games that are emerging now as PS3 exclusives e.g Unchartered 2 are breathtaking plus it has much bhetter media integration facilities that the XBox.

I've had no real stability issues with my Slim - had it since launch date and yes it crashes from time to time, but these occasions are few and far between and I haven't experienced a single crash whilst playing a game.

My PS3 is now coming on for 3 years old I think (when did they come out, March 2007?) and is still working perfectly - it's on an awful lot of the time as I forget to switch it off, it's used for Play TV as well as games and movies...

It's in a well ventilated space, and I make a point of vacuuming the vents if it's looking dusty, but despite shoving a presumably hotter/more power hungry 500GB HD in it, I can't fault it.

Cheapest i've seen is just under £200 at Sainsburys on offer.

I was contemplating buying one but i've just got one as a Christmas pressies (yes, i shouldn't have opened it yet )
