Rev3 flows better has over bucket shims better cams + you can
use the rev3 inlet manifold (bigger)

Waiting for rev1/2 ownwers to shoot me down now lol

errr exhaust manifold, pretty sure you use the rev2 timing belt, its a tooth shorter!
Cant remember if you have to use different water and oil pumps, but i cant see why you would have to.

Thinks thats it!

Cam cover of coarse

It has under bucket shims, but they can be fitted to any head.

Not according to nathan at mr2twos with 14 yrs experiance of rebuilds.

I asked him this question and he said it needs to have some machining done to it

The head gaskets are interchangeable between Rev 1, 2 and 3 so a rev 3 head will bolt on to a rev 1 and 2 with no problems. The oil pump and oil cooler are not the same as well as the two manifolds, fuel rail and injectors.

I can see no point in just changing the head without other major mods.

so what's the actual story then???

is there any point putting on a rev3 head/manifolds???

surely toyota must have thought they made some sort of difference otherwise they'd had left them as they are on rev1/2.

Oh damn I better recall the several we have done already over the years and stop on the 2 we are doing at this very moment. ](*,)

Back to the drawing board I guess.

Perhaps not.
