I had a similar incident to Pete, I'd just bought a game I really wanted to play and mine died. I didnt know about fix it yourself kits and as I bought it 2nd hand I didnt know if it was still covered. And I really wanted to play. So I just bought a new one

I played DJ hero from release day, few hours a day for a week and it gave me 3 lights.

It's already been fixed.

Turned it on via the eject button to get the game out so a mate could play it only to be greated with a working 360

Its just hit and miss and its my 4th one but warrenty had been voided

Just gona buy a 250 elite when the cars up and running.

The elites seem to break just as much !! Do PS3's or Wii's have any problems ?

Not had one problem with the Wii but it's not really advanced since the gamecube, only contrals have changed.

PS3, yellow lights and drive fails but those problems ain't half as common as 360 fails.

Im getting a ps3.

Anyone want to resurrect the megadrive and ps1.

PS1's were prone to bursting into flames IIRC.

There may not be as many reports of PS3 failures as xbox failures, but it seems you will have to pay (alot) to get it fixed if and when it does go wrong.

You say If and WHEN goes wrong yet Ive had mine for since they came out and its gotta work every single day for sometimes six hours at a time , Perhaps now Ive said that it will burts into flames etc ,

But I know several people I,E close friends who own 360's and I am the only one ( yes I own an elite also) who is not on his/hers 2nd,3rd,4th,5th etc etc, I even know someone who is on his 10th (he has no life )

Yet I only know one person ( Best mate) who had a PS3 60 gig have the drive fail AND Sony replaced his console FOC out of warenty by about 6 months as well.

The only PS3 I have seen with problems was the one at work and Sony did a doorstep swap out for that

I dont know any one thats had to replace their Xbox more than once. By that I mean my real life friends, not people on here etc.

Some of them are still on their first console, bought on release day.

If and when is just a figure of speach. There have been a few people post on here lately with PS3 failures though and it was reported on tv recently.
