have all the parts i would need at work.... just need how to do it

yeah i just thought that.. was trying to remember when i got it.. but this being my 5th xbox it should still be under warrenty .. so gonna send it off...

It's a toss up though isnt it?
What would he use the warrenty for? For MS to take at least a week, possibly up to 3 to fix it. He can do it himself in less than an hour with the bits. The warrenty would be void, but it'll be fixed.

If you want directions, send H3RB a message, he's fixed dozens of them.

Seriously, it ONLY takes a few minutes to get the thing open.. check out my thread with a few links that made the process easy as pie. EASY

But... WHat I did didn't fix the thing. (Applied new thermal paste and cleared the dust)

So... warranty first THEN try yourself.

warranty wont be void if you use a hair dryer and tweasers to take the silver sticker off but shhh i never said that. also the new paper ones come off without tearing if they are very cold

did u rebolt the heatsinks down?? or did u just put the xclamps back on? if u dont have bolts u could try taping up 2 1p's and putting them on all four ram chips, it helps the mobo stay straight

get it wrapped in a towel worked for me console lasted another 2weeks before i sent it off for repairs

yeah E74 is still fixable costs about £3 for the stuff lol

Apparently those clamp kits fix pretty much every xbox that dies.
