[Mk2] [Generic] Headlight wont stay down! Any ideas? **Update vid**

Hi all

Hope you can help? I recently replaced the headlight motor on passengerside about a month ago as it stopped working and wouldnt pop up or down.

All seemed fine till tonight. I turned headlights on popped up no probs. Drove home. Turned the lights off, Headlights popped down. Then a couple seconds later the passenger one popped up. But it dosent just stay popped up when the lights are off, the motor continulusy runs and the passenger light keeps popping up and down and randomly stopping where it likes. Sometimes it donest stop and it keeps going. Thought this was quite funny for 30secs but now i just wanna fix it lol.

I have this exact same problem on my driver side lamp. Only started happening this morning..!? Will keep an eye on this thread and will post if I find out what is causing mine.

open the bonnet and look behind the light and theres a dial you can turn to raise / lower the light. Try turning that then flick you lights on and off and see if anything happens.

Mine got stuck and when I turned that dial it started working again (must have jammed on something)

Try unplugging the 4 pin connector behind the headlight and check that there's no water trapped inside and that everything is nice and clean.

thanks guys for the replys.

i read those other threads. they seems to make sense to me. i dont think its the blue controller box as i would of thought both lights wud be doing it. it makes sense that the conectors are to fault as thats the same light that i changed a month ago. plus with all this snow n slush n rain and a lack of wheel arch liners i think thats the first thing to check.

i'll check on friday afternoon or sat and let u let u guys know how it goes.

would double check your relay just in case mate...i put the wrong relay in once (mirror retract relay) and it did exactly what you said was amusing . I know you wasnt as stoooopid as i was but you never know it could of got damp or something
