had a play through single player last night, seems all good so far (only completed season 1) \:D/

started with a yaris - crap car, once i did the 1st event i bought and mr2 turbo :D

it actually drives like an mr2 with all assists off, launches and handles well.

bought an st205 for some of the other races in the 1st season.

multiplayer (the main part of this game for me) is screwed up though.

ranked = match making - cant choose what assists you want or car tunes.
unranked = friends only and invite only (but you can choose loads of different options - loads more than forza 2)

there is no way of searching through unranked lobby's... so unless you have 7 friends online that want to race you'll never get a full room.

I bet there's not going to be too many people saying this today, but... Royal Mail win!

Well, my local depot anyway. Seems they're made of awesome and manliness and aren't on strike at all, which means I've just had my copy of Forza 3 delivered today when I'd resigned myself to not being able to play until about a week after everyone else. Epic postie winnage! :D

The Sun wouldn't know a decent game (or game review) if it smacked them in the face.

Actually they get quite a few spot on.

Bioshock, Batman, COD 4, Fifa 10 and many others. They seem to be able to spot whats going to be good.
What you have to remember though is that every one has a different opinion. 1 reviewer is not going to like every game every one else likes and vice versa.

Had a bash on F3 last night - loving it!

Its a natural progression from F2, with better graphics, significantly better physics, more cars and more tracks!

There are a few rough graphics here and there but it dosnt need to be photo realistic to be seriously entertaining.

Will likley be hammering this for a good few months!

With regards to the advert on TV, is that ALL gameplay footage?

AFAIK yes. I was stunned when it turned out to be a Forza ad, the first bit with the LM car looked real but then it cut to the R8 on the track from the demo and all became clear

See I thought that bit was wierest as the LM Car does look real, but the R8 looks clearly like a game.

They seem to be able to spot the bloody obvious, you mean. Their reviews are clearly either done by someone who has a passing interest in games rather than a passion, or they're deliberately bland and empty to cater for those who don't have the passion.

But anyway, Forza 3 is the greatest racing game I've ever had the privilege to play. Beautiful if a bit shiny graphics, not bad engine noises, but most importantly the sweetest handling controls I've ever encountered, even on a pad rather than a wheel. Utterly, utterly mesmerising.
