Hello has all, I 'm Sylvain, I am fan of Japanese cars, and I have drive a sw20 turbo gen3 for now 2 months!

I am mechanic at Toyota, in a garage in France.

I come to be registered on your forum because I find it very complete, alive, and very interesting.

Moreover, I found my mr2 here, it is the old one of Ayrton.

It is a fantastic car, on the one hand for its performances, but also for its handling. I discover it gradually, and it astonishes me the every day.

Since I bought it I carried out a large revision with the car: new apexi air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs denso iridium IK22, draining + oil filter, draining gear box etc…

I also changed the downpipe, that which was assembled was fissured of everywhere, I had many losses! now I have a 3” berktech', it is much better.

I have to regulate the AVCR after these changes, the car fonctionnally much better!

I have also to change the wheels because the 17” was not appropriate to me. I drive with wheels 15” stock, and I currently seek of the 16” (the 15” will be for the trackdays)

Here, I make a point of excusing me for my English who is bad. I understand it when I read it, but for the speech or to write it is harder!

I have one or two question to pose to you, about the ECU.

I do not have a speed limit, and not fuelcut.
I have to test once by regulating the AVCR, and I had a peak of pressure a little bit higher than 1.2b. Shouldn't it start?

I have to look at the ECU, and I did not see anything of unusual, it seems of origin.

The second question relates to management engine. this MR2 is a model JDM, therefore made to turn with a japanese fuel.
In France, the fuel have an index of 98 RON, I must be made an adapted cartography? I would not like to turn too rich.

Power FC + remap?

Mines' ECU adapted?

Not the best place to post questions. Get out onto the main forum sections. However, I will say, try and stick to the higher octane fuels. You're lucky on the continent that you have 100RON at a lot of the fuel stations. Ok its expensive, but still nice to have the option. 98 will be fine. Most of the cars on here will be run on 98/99 RON fuel.

the fuel 100ron are rare in France, and they are for the majority in the north or the North-East of the country. I live in the south, close to Marseille, and the 100ron is non-existent.

Thus they is 98 exclusively. I surely will buy a wideband, and I would see whether I turn too rich or not.

It will always run rich. I wouldn't waste your money on the wideband as there is nothing you'll be able to do about the over fuelling. Best to let the ECU manage it and run a little on the rich side.

98 will be fine though, especially if you're not going too mad with boost.

I turn most of the time in “OFF” the pressure am light and go up until 0.95b to 7000tr.

In “A”, I optimized this setup with 1.1b, I prefer to have a little margin for fiability.

With a wideband and a SAFC, I could regulate my AFR as it is necessary I think. By hoping that was enough, I do not want too to invest in a power FC. Moreover, in my country, people who know the power FC and the 3sgte rev3 are very rare.

What reassures me, it is that you say to me that is not likely large thing to turn with the ECU of origin. Moreover, on this forum, there are some people who rolls thus. Even if I think that the fuel of on your country is a little different from the French fuel.

actually, french fuel is not RON98 but RON 87/88! 98 is a commercial name for or bad bad bad fuel...
