[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev1 Power steering problem

Post by InFaMou$ »

I have a MK2 and the dame thing will not assist me with steering for longer than 60sec.
I tried to do the key trick but my power steering motor does work. it is just that it shuts off after a minute.
note: the warning light works but does not come on after the system shuts down.

Your help will be much appreciated! :D

Try to check the steering sensor, http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_199202 ... l?hl=84305

The sensor measures the angle of the steering wheel, and if it isn't working the car doesn't know that you are turning the wheel, then turn off the electric power steering pump. Seems a plausible cause to that problem.
