on ym steering wheel i have a clutch, brake and accel pedal. it also has a 5 speed gear shift that can be used in either the h-shift pattern or in quick shift (just up and down)
so my hands hold the wheel, feet drive the car and everynow and then my hand has to change gear, just like in a real car so i dont see how thats confusing lol

In car view is better because the pivot point when the car starts to slide is what you'd expect it to be.

I only do out of car views in GTA, never in a racing game. Some of the rally games like Dirt though are annoying because crack your windscreen and you've got to put up with it on an in-car view.

According to a tipster of TheSixthAxis, who, apparently found out this information from a friend who knows a friend who knows somebody who lives in Japan, has some exciting revelations of Gran Turismo 5 that have yet to be unveiled. If this information is actually true, Gran Turismo 5, which is scheduled for a March 2010 release, will easily become one of the biggest racing game ever conceived.

Developer Polyphony Digital has already confirmed that the game will feature 20 ‘World Circuits’, but, according to the tipster, the final game may hold over 110 track variants of the 20 circuits. Furthermore, Porsche, a long holdout of racing games in general, may make an appearance in the final game.

Speaking of cars, the final total may top the confirmed 950 already confirmed cars. Also, the number of cars that can be imported from Gran Turismo PSP may be limited to around 100.

Isnt it already pretty mush a shoe in for most units sold by a racing game?

Just to pop back on topic..

The article linked to is a little bit pro GT, being a PSX website, no? To give Kazunori Yamauchi too much credit for the GT-R is a bit off? Polyphony just designed the interface for the dash centre console, didn't they?

Anyway, GT5 is next year (Japan Spring probably turning to Summer in Europe if it's anything like typical) and Forza 3 is in 3 weeks, so why even compare them?

Personally I find the physics better in Forza3. The Porsche GT3 in the demo is a beast! Will find out of GT5 is better than Prologue (handling wise) next year, but I'm not going to miss out on Forza 3 while I'm waiting.

Gran Turismo 5, which is scheduled for a March 2010 release, will easily become one of the biggest racing game ever conceived.

Or the biggest fail ever conceived - Sony have hyped this game to epic proportions; far more than any game released in the history of gaming.

Consumer expectations are already stupidly high for this game and with every extra bit of hype those expectations will just go beyond what Sony can ever expect to reasonably deliver.

If GT5 dosnt meet consumer expectations i get the feeling there will be a savage backlash; wich could ultimately damage the credibility of the PS3 and Sony.

I personally reckon it will turn out that the game will be released in modules and to get the damage modeling / full compliment of cars / tracks etc then you will have to pay even more for it.

It'll sell millions, but it won't move the game on any more than GT5P has. It'll be pretty, the sound will still be rubbish (as are all racing games), and it'll become more like Pokemon than GT4 was (as in collect the car).

Hmm, have Sony Hyped it or have the Sony Fanboi's hyped it?

From IGN UK re: Forza 2. It actually sums up my thoughts of the game very very well.

and its accessibility was countered by a frequently aimless career mode. Under the bonnet there was a game that could go toe-to-toe with the best, but it only showed its true colours to the most dedicated.

When Forza 1 came out on the xbox i bought it day one as the review said better then GT.

I played it hardcore all the way untill release of Forza 2. The game was that good. I even named my cat Forza

I played Forza 2 all the way untill last month when my xbox gave up.

Forza 3 is out next week and i have a semi.

This game is seriously goood. For racing fans it cannot get any better.

My car and it's setup against your car and setup.

My underdog MR2 GT against a field of scoreboard cars running downloaded setups. Gettin flamed for pullin out a crappy car, ( or so they think ). They don't know what's under the hood or on the wheels. It gets the adreneline flowing for sure. As close to racing as possible from your armchair.

The work gone into producing this game is in my opinion awesome, well worth the cost of a new xbox and collectors addition pack, and i download alot.

I understand the basic principles of what makes a good racing game. GT was good, but it wasn't online. Forza had the equation right the first time round and haven't changed it since.

I would rate this game 11 out of 10 and i never even give anything a 10.
Don't be put off by how complex it may seem, it's not. It's just made to give that impression.

I took part in a couple of organised JGTC series on Forza 2 which were great and am looking forward to organising an MR2 Series shortly after release of Forza 3. I bet in a year if not sooner it will sponsored.

i got forza 3 last weekend and its pretty good. BUT if you didnt know its 2disks as they couldnt fit it all on one disk, so u have to install disk 2 to the hdd so you can use the cars/tracks on that disk. if you dont have enough space you can choose to install parts...
is this a thing of whats to come for 360 games? :?
its not a bad game but the drift mode thing is terrible... (i loved drifting on forza one and 2)

2 disks, you think this is where Bluray trumped HD DVD? Wasnt HD DVD capacity 25gb where as Bluray was 50gb

How much space does each disk take up on the HDD? I only ever seem to have about 8gb spare at any given time :-k

So what is Forza?
Can it be played without saving to the HDD?
