MR2 Championship - Mallory Park

Post by Rogue »

Hi All,

For the final round of the MR2 Championship at Mallory Park I switched back into a mk2 and enjoyed some extremely close racing at the pointy end of the field:

A cracking drive and some of the best in-car coverage we have seen Patrick - congratulations. 8) 8) 8)

It was a little less spectacular than your last outing in the Roadster though...

Seriously, good to see you back in a Mk2 and so obviously ready for the Birkett at Silverstone on Sat 24th Oct.

The first corner is hilarious- it's like 'you guys go slow if you want, but I'm just gonna power round'!

What sorta spec is the car you're in there (the all comers race)?

It's one of our MR2 Championship hire cars! The yellow car in front of me for the first few laps is a Fisher Fury - with a Honda Fireblade motorbike engine installed. I would have been more a bit more confident in overtaking him around Gerrards, but I wrote my car off there in a fairly heavy impact last year (90mph backwards into the tyre wall).

Just a quick question what tyre and suspension setup do you run on those cars?

Typically, Yellow Billies + Tein or 'other' springs and control Toyo R888's on stock sized 15 inch rims.
