Sounds daft... got enough petrol in ?? I know you've mentioned petrol coming through.. but if not pressurised correctly.. engine wont run... Go stick a gallon in it.. it'll fill the tanks swirl and pickup.

Do a compression check ( throttle wide open ) ....

Bridge the test terminals to see if theres an undelying sensor issue... TE1 and E1

If its firing... and fuels going in..... it should run.....

Pull a plug out to see if its damp from the fuel... fuel pump maybe running and it maybe firing.. but the injectors may not be switching....

Might even be flooded.. if you can see fuel on the tip of the spark plug, take a lighter to it.. and pull the other 3 out and leave it to air out a little...

You may have a hose not coupled up... open nozzle drawing in a large amount of air...creating a huge air leak... remember, the injector may fire and plugs maybe firing, but there needs to be that vaccum created by the pistons ( downward stroke ) to draw the fuel into the cylinders for it to all work.....

Ie... if the plugs are dry when you remove it.. drop a little fuel into the bore, then see if it'll fire...

Block the idle control valve channel.. you'll see a line from the air box, run up the side of the engine heading towards the underside of the throttle body... stick your finger over it....

Also.. is this a full rev 3 conversion ?? or is it a rev 3 engine with a rev 1 ecu / harness ??

Right its running for like 1 second now and then dying.

spark plugs look black but dry.

Power is going to the injectors.

Is there much chance that all of the injectors are busted

oh and its a full rev 3 car and engine loom.

ps, we havent got the alternator wired up yet but that should matter, right?

Normally unlikely, depends how long the engines been sitting.. but they shouldn't faulter...

Should still run without it connected up.....

Sounds like the ecu is shutting the engine down, have you done the error coded test yet ?? That'll generally point straight to it....

Try bridging B+ and FP in the diagnostics, this sends a current straight to the fuel pump... the firing up momentarily can also indicate the fuel pump is initially priming, but not running when the engine fires ( again possibly ecu controlled to kill the engine )

Open the diag port in the engine bay. Stick a paperclip between TE1 and E1, then turn ignition on in the car. Depending on how the engine light flashes is what code i.e flash flash, pause, flash would be 21. If its constantly flashing 2x a second then that means there is no faults.
