PS3 Value

Right I like many bought my PS3 for GT5, im fed up and f*cked off waiting on it coming out and im not waiting any longer.

So im thinking about selling it and buying an XBox and Forza 3, plus all my mates have the XBox so its better for swapping/borrowing games.

What is the asking price for the PS3 then?

Spec:

*2 years old
*40GB hard drive
*1 controller
*HDMI cable
*6 good games
*still have origonal box etc

I have some really good games that only fetch a tenner or so used

I would imagine that lot could get you around £200 on ebay?

Have a look and see where the bidding is at on something similar.

Whats the best option for an Xbox these days?

Id like Forza 3 and a COD type game

why would you buy a ps3 when gt5 didn't even have a release date? surely the thing to do would be to buy the whole lot on the same day if you only wanted it for that game mate?

Also you've described your games as "good" so whats the problem?

If you only want a racing game then at the moment Forza 3 is looking good and cod is just around the corner as is uncharted 2

Up to you mate but imo you'll end up buying a ps3 again when gt5 comes out.

You can get Xboxes very cheap. In fact, you could buy a RROD one and fix it for a fiver. All in it'll probably cost you £40

If you feel you will end up getting another PS3 when/if GT5 eventually comes out, I'd say keep the PS3 and get a cheap Xbox.
If not, there is a limited edition 360 coming out in line with CODMW2 with a 250gb HDD soon. I'd say go for that one.

How do you fix it for a fiver tho? And will it be reliable once fixed?

There's loads of repair kits on ebay. I've mentioned it in a few other posts but I have my dead one to my colleague who fixed it with no problems and has been playing it quite regularly since. Even if it does go wrong again, it takes less than half hour to repair when you know how
He even went on to buy 3 more RROD's from ebay and fix those for his family members.

He's now looking to buy more and may be make a few quid.

I just read that GAME have the 250gb elite model with forza and MW2 for preorder for £249.99.

oh and you get 2 x controllers too.

just a warning th. if you do plan on buying a dead 360 to fix. once fixed if they die again (it does happen) then they are almost impossible to get working again.
